550hpCatWL900: those numbers are pretty impressive, your going to have to some more work. Ins't even close what we can do with our 12.7 Detroits. 2003 Alban CAT horspower shoot out 12.7 Series 60 1470 hp and 1260 hp to the ground on straight diesel. Now thats extreme, what we know compared to 2003 unofficailly we're in the 1800 to 2000 range depending of wether we use nitrous or not. Are you making big rpm or just stock, with that kinda horse, eager to know if you did your self or someone do it for you. I know of a guy who actually builds big horse cats, and every one that i know that puts the horse to the ground your talking about has gone to him, and I'm not talking about Bruce Mallison At Pittsburgh Power. Detroit guys if your looking for good horsepower 650 to 700 hp range, we can help. Buts there a catch, right now for you DDEC 1V EGr guys right now we don't the capability to help you guys, Yet, were working on it. 550hpCatWL900 i hear you have a Lipe Clutch, were NYS Distributors for LIPE, and we also modify those clutches to for Semi truck pulling and drag racing. Detroit guys any questions I'll try to answer them Thanks

35% is little to hot for the street, we do build racin programs with 35% for semi truck pulling drag racin. Concerning your 02 550 injector cal codes could be bumped up, drill out fuel return line restrictor fitting. Shoot me a email. Thanks

Serious i did all the work myself, im happy with the truck as its a work truck first and a toy 2nd, i know i have lots of catching up to do and i seen you guys run those big numbers at alban then, didnt know that was you.... I have a friend who is looking to build a 12.7 DDEC4 so ill be asking you some questions down the road.
I have a different cam for my motor that needs to be put in, if i can hit 1000whp ill be happy with it. As far as rpm im turning 2300 but dont take it that high as i dont have enough cam for it and power drops.
I have the 2250 LIPE, ill be looking at something stronger when this one wears out. -
I don't where your located but we build and pretty stout 6000lbs plate load 9 paddle twin disc. Have a gentleme who has a big 600 cat in a wl900 does alot truck pullin, and he has one our 9 paddle twin discs in and loves it, for pulling and for the street. Great to hear you did the work yourself. So you were down # Alban Cat in 2003 i wasn't there personally my business partner was with his 2000 Western Star (green) we were down there oct 2007 and had it all the way up to 1000 hp and suddenly broke traction and spun the tire on the drums of the chasis dyno. Didn't fair to well. Next time (if they have next time) Going in there with a freakin jersey barrier across the frame rails for traction. If would could get a bite with what we know now, it wouldn't suprise me just on diesel 1600 hp, and that is a daily driver street truck
-
10-4 on the jersey barrier! lol..... Do you know Kurt Murray? He has a red 379 flat top with a C16 and one of your clutches. He did 1049hp on it.
I wasent at alban personally but read about it and a buddy told me about that detroit powered truck that kept making power.
Im in the south western corner of michigan by the way. -
No Don't know him. Is from NY or MI? There's alot of good clutch manufacturer's out there, but LIPE in my opinion is the best. Last year I was looking for a High Perf clutch manufacturer who would be interested in building me a high perf clutch for my pullin truck, Lipe was the only guys that would talk to me. At the time they had a 6 paddle 2250 like you probably have, In March at Louisville truck we pitched the idea build a 9 paddle twin disc # 6000 lbs plate load, so they did. Now on there modified clutches there isn't no warranty, but on any stock clutch you can't beat the warranty (2 year). I don't care you any one drives CAT Mack Cummins Detroit, if it runs GOOD its make the job a whole lot easier. I got a 430 Detroit in my pulling truck, occasionaly when i put it on the road, and come up against those 600 CATS Cummins, you should hear the buzz on the radio. Its alot of fun. You know what i mean
