Califorina, of course it would be them, tried to make it illegal for drivers to smoke in their trucks but it got so much attenation they gave up on it like they gave up on the no smoking in your own home that they tried to pass.

BUT they can at times try to get a driver if there are 2 in the truck with the workplace rules. IDK how thats been going on sine I came off in Aug 09 but it was getting big rants on the CB all the time!

The gooberment will try again to get "workplace" rules to be in effect for trucks again. You know it I know it and they know it.

As for the OP ask for a differend trainer or one that smokes what you smoke or quit and ask for a non smoker but be sure to wash every thing you own in the truck as it will all stink like you hair does after you put your out.

IMHO, quit! It's not as hard as I thought it was when I decided after 39 years and several attempts to give them up! Want to try my method? go here http://rolloverriderpgr.blogspot.com/2010/04/chapter-13.html then click on 2010 then April and chapter 12 titled "How I quit smoking after 39 years" subtitled "39 years later a dummy got smart!" It worked and I've been stink free errrr smoke free since Feb 26,2007! Don't miss the skanky smell or the costs or the raspy throat, the burns on steering wheel, seat, shirts, pants, fingers, and almost everything else related to that nasty habit we all think is our right to do around others who want skank free air to breathe and also not want in our hair and clothes!

Anyway how you can complain about another smoker is way beyond me! Ok I'll give you a break as I smoked those Winchester little cigars because they were cheap and strong! I had your trainer beat hands down!

No doubt a few weeks with another smoker will do what years of smoking yourself hasn't.

Seriously though, if it's bothering you that bad he needs to stop.

Why do you smokers really want to smoke with the windows down? You dont want it in the truck? But you will put it in your lungs. It's all crap you don't need. Pall Malls make me throw up with the smell anywhere.

I won't share my truck with a smoker at all. You have a window beside you, crank the sucker all the way down when he is smoking. You may be allergic to something else but the smoke is just secondary.

In Canada is illegal to smoke in the work place. The truck is an extension of that workplace and therefore it is illegal to smoke in the truck.

The only job I ever got fired from was because I complained the trainer was smoking when I was a non-smoker. It was a company truck.

Next time you're by a Walmart, get a package of Zyrtec or Claritin and one of generic Sudafed if you're in a state that sells it. You'll have to sign for the Sudafed at the pharmacy. You might be allergic to something else in the truck. Take the antihistamine before you go to bed and keep the Sudafed handy when you start getting conjested.

Regarding workplace smoking: An Ohio cop tried to write a ticket to a trucker for this. When it went to court, the judge threw it out, indicating he did not believe that was the intent of the statute. This is one of those things that shows the nosiness and ridiculousness of people who think they know everything and want to claim higher "moral" ground because they are doing something for your own good. What's next? Are you going to tell someone who works from home they have to get rid of the ashtray on their coffee table? It's no different in this truck. It is where I live most of the time and where I conduct business. How about minding your own for a change?

Why do I roll the window all the way down? How about this: just because I happen to smoke...does not mean I want everything I own to reek of it. There are few things more repugnant to me than canned up, stale cigarette smoke. Therefore, my window is almost fully open whenever I happen to be smoking. I just don't get you guys. You b**** when you get a truck that has been lived in by a smoker who canned it up....and then you b**** when someone opens the window to smoke. That's why I'm convinced it's not about the smoke per se. It's about someone else doing something they like that you choose not to participate in, but if you don't do it, nobody else should either. And don't get stupid with your comparisons. Because I know that's coming next.

Not that it's really any of your business, but I happen to like windows open whether I am smoking or not. In my house and my vehicle. Just because we smoke doesn't mean we don't like fresh air.

Non-smokers need to get off their high horses and leave those of us who choose to smoke alone. Stop trying to force their will on those of us that do smoke. The ex-smokers are usually worse than those who never smoked.

How about we start telling non-smokers they can't do something they like to do?

When you guys smoke with the window open the smoke comes right back to the vehicle behind you,and if they are like me,when its allergy season it really makes it hard for me to breathe,so yes we do complain,we don't smoke for a reason,we like fresh air,not stale cig smoke.

Boy, what a can of worms you opened here.

I cannot believe a nonsmoker could even think of complaining about another person smoking with the window down driving down the road.

I could see it as a problem in a truckstop though when parked next to each other with screens up.

But, I rarely stay in a truck stop.

Go to a tobacco shop and get a carton of cigarette tubes and a rolling machine. Then stop by the nearest horse farm and pick up a baggie of mostly dry horse ####.

Roll one and fire that bad boy up when he's sleeping. LMFAO!!!
