Put in several applications. Your options are 100% better than mine were when I graduated from a 10 day CDL school in Tennessee. Only job I could find was with Midwestern Dist. out of Ft. Scott, KS. It was a horrible company and I knew that when I went there. I'm also hard headed and knew it was just temporary as a stepping stone for something better. All companies will have some negative posts and many are from drivers that haven't even worked there.

    Couple of other companies:
Ozark Motor Lines - no NYC, no Canada, 100% no-touch freight. My problem with this company is they only run Eastern half of USA and I'm a coast-to-coast guy.

Howard Transportation - private fleet for Howard Industries.

They both bend the rules and hire new CDL grads and they're very picky, which is good.

They do????? That's good .But then again considering how harder companies are having finding good qualified drivers,I imagine more and more carriers are bending the rules.

Epes out of Greensboro is a good place to start if you went to one of the schools on their list. Hdq in Greensboro and have a yard off brookshire in Charlotte.

I did 3 years with them and could/would have stayed there but for a much better opportunity that literally dropped into my lap.

Solid training company, good trainers, no team training, better than average pay/benefit package. Home weekly or stay out long as you want. If your school is on their list they're worth looking at.

expectations is the root of failure in most instances
trucking is like no other job
until your doing it you really wont know where in the industry
    you want to move towards
some guys like flat beds some driver local some like going OTR
everyone is different every job has good and bad

I like going to CA driving reefers
today as it snowed all the way across the mountains
    I contemplated retirement :biggrin_25522:

yeah I can definitely concur lol

i was thinking the same thing last week in nc,sc,ga and fl in 4 days straight of relentless driving pouring rain, holiday traffic that had no business being on the big road and couldn't drive in sunshine much less that endless downpour and a leather jacket that stayed wet through Friday.

Just another day(s) at the office lol

the good days still outnumber the bad. Until that changes I guess retirement has to wait......but it sure looks good at least one day a week lol
