Got ferrites all over the place. Zero benefit.

Where else do you have ground straps besides the door hinges?

A picture of your door hinge setup would be helpful since we both run fiberglass trucks.

2 on top hinge and one on bottom hinge..Make sure you clean all painted and thread lock off any connecting surface....
Did you pull coax off back off radio to see if noise is commin ant coax or power wire?
If its there when coax is not hooked up then its power wire..Try re routeing power supply wires and go direct to battery..I think you had a cobra right? 10ga awg would do nicely..You can buy a 10ga direct plug in for the cobra just dont remember where..

I have not checked with antenna coax off. I'll try that. I am direct to battery now (wasn't before). Before, I was powered through breaker box on my 2018 and had a little bit of noise. Now in a 2020, direct to battery, MUCH more noise. (And what I am calling alternator noise is a noise that increases in volume and pitch with increases in RPM. May not be alternator, but that's just my assumption.)

Try a different battery..Might or might not help moveing it back to furthest battery..just guessing..Im still in an 18 yr so might be something different in the 20..
Have you turned on the radios noise filters....

    Yes, both NB/ANL.

What I didn't mention before was that I only just changed out the stud on the mount last night. My old stud was damaged when my Skipshooter hit a construction sign in Denver. Wind was from the right and I was in the left lane, so it was sticking out to the left quite a bit and those lanes are so narrow as it is. Anyway, it was causing a short to the mount.

Today has been my first day out with the new stud and there's considerably less alternator noise. So. Weird!

I had already ordered the Powerwerx noise filter and will install it when I get home. I have the ground straps with me. I'll try that but in my last 2020 (last year, previous company), it didn't help much. But who knows? Every truck is different even when they're the same.

FWIW, I'm connected to the battery furthest to the left when facing the driver's door and battery box. In line fuse of course on the hot side immediately after the wire leaves the battery. The one furthest to the right is where I've hooked up my 2500W true sine wave inverter. I assumed with no science to back it up that keeping them on separate batteries (even though they're wired in parallel) was a good idea.

I would assume the same with seperateing the two..Is inverter off when not in use? even though its supposed to be pure sine wave it still might make noise....
    What stud did you get?

It's always on because it's always in use. It's powering things that need to start on like my dorm fridge.

I got this stud: Super Heavy-Duty CB Antenna Stud

Video talks about the right-angle certain l version but it's the same size as the regular version I have.

In his vid he changed his swr from a 1.2 and a 1.03..minimal difference to be honest..
All that work to get 10 mi on a 100+ watts..Thats low..

Guess his cb shop didnt bother with looking for his resistence (50 ohm) or ant resonance..
If you get to a shop who uses an anslyzer..Ask to have your x and y #'s to be x=50 and y=0..
My pic is a bit dark but still..2nd pic will show you how well ant is grounded to trk..you will need an ohm meter for that..Or a golden screw driver has been inside that radio of his..
