For those of you who just pay them and move on. STOP! Thats what the cop is hopping you will do. Get a lawyer and fight them. It's not just about the money. It's about the CDL you need for your job. I belong to a legal service called Open Road. I pay $7 a week. and if I need a lawyer they provide one from that are to fight for me. In the last month I have beaten two tickets. I did both offenses. But got out of them.

1st was a speeding ticket in OH. on I-80. Was doing 75 going down hill. Took it to court, Got it reduced to 69/65 $25 fine no points.
2nd was running a red lite in my POV in AL. on us280 just south of Birmingham. Took it to court. Dismissed.

So don't just roll over and take it. Even if you did it. FIGHT IT!

I could care less if you come to court. I'm in court, well like this week, everyday. I'm there about 10 out of the 21 days I work a month. I love the prepaid legal attorney's, most are clueless that I deal with. They can plead you not guilty, but it's been my experience that they still get you convicted. I had a few guys come to court and have a $100 speeding ticket, and the judge raise the fine to $500. Once it goes to court, in my State, the Judge can do whatever he wants. Sometimes your the windshield, sometimes your the bug.

    $7 a week, $364 a year! I'm so cheap I think I'll behave!

Most attorneys make $150/hour or more. So $364 is cheap, actually. :yes2557: But, you get what you pay for. :biggrin_25525:

Not quite sure how you "got out of" a ticket if you were convicted of going 69 in a 65 and paid a fine -

In PA once they start the CSA2010 they will be doing any more pleading to lower speeding ticket in a CMV only. You may still get a reduced fine, but what speed you were traveling at, will be sent to your CDL record.

Heard rumors that NY and NJ and going to do the same thing. It's seems the enforcement side is taking this seriously.
