It was 30 miles not minutes but I see where you're going with this and I do agree.

Ok ok I get it. Just didn't want a ticket. I guess it would be different if this kind of stuff didn't happen all the time. Just got a bit fed up with it. I get it though.

I just looked up the road service call which is 99.00 an hr and 1.20 per mile.Thats going to be a mighty costly mudflap.

From now on ask your dispatcher if hes going to pay for your ticket if you get stopped.

Yes and no. They might be more inclined to get on the other driver by doing what you did. For some reason, I think if you had done it, they would have left it at that and nothing would be said to the other driver. All they care about is the load and you are an afterthought, so I wouldn't worry about it. If things were different then I think you would know. I guess it depends on who you work for and how they treat you.

    Have you seen This? :)

I always carried an old torn mudflap for situations like that. If I was stopped then I could explain, Yes, I have the mudfap and headed to a truckstop to get it put back on. Was never stopped, but was prepared if it did happen.

I would have done it myself. If I get stopped and ticketed I would show the message to the officer to show what my intention was. I hate sitting around for little things.

If after all that I still got busted for it I would go give the ticket to my dispatcher, do not know about you but my dispatcher would probably arrange for the company to pay the thing after I lay the guilt trip on him.

Loves would add at least an hour and a half to your day with out pay.. its better to replace it yourself if you can. I go thru spurts of drivers leaving trailers with needed repairs for someone else.. loves or where eever would be the last option.. I've used wire to attach one layin around. til it gets to a place for a repair

    allniter and skellr Thank this.

All the while you sit your elog is ticking away.
I do understand your point, but drive it to the trkstp and get it installed.
Or better yet carry a spare mudflap and tools...

    Mudguppy and SMTatham Thank this.
