    I can ask my friend but I don’t think you can pay on a 1099 if you’re a contractor for Ground.

    They have universal health care in Canada so why would an employer be required to provide insurance? And it could be that their work comp system is simply called something different there.

    Well got the final details. 52cpm 17 of that is per diem, no accessory pay for the doubles. 50% of health benefits covered.

    Not too bad as long as I do over 300 miles a day then I make more than my last company

    That sucks about the accessory pay, but if you’re happy with the job and the money that’s all that matters at the end of the day. Plus now that they’re in that terminal other runs may come their way in the future also.

    Worker’s compensation is mandatory for employees in Canada . That’s what I meant when I said a driver inc company .

    Universal Healthcare is NOT free healthcare. Somebody pays for it. That "somebody" is Employers and Workers. Taxation is taxation, no matter what name you put on it.

    Either way, employers in Canada aren’t required to provide healthcare to employees.

    Well update.
    Gave it a shot did a 12 hour shift just to get 310 miles.
    The juice was not worth the squeeze

    day before that was a 13 hour shift with 620 miles that was nice but that was just moving 2 53's the second day was all doubles which will be the usual work
