Don't be so full of yourself. Pride goes before the fall and all that.

You are just like all those whippersnappers my granddad #####ed about when I was a little kid. "###### know-it-alls is all you are. Don't appreciate how things used to get done. Always thinking you have finally found the answer when it has always been right where we left it. All you had to do is ask nicely."

Seriously, it comes down to recognizing necessity as opposed to nicety. It helps if you have the perspective of doing the work before the innovation or improvement became common. It makes it obvious that the job can be done without the "essential" component.

So, yes, the graybeards have standing to pick on the kids. Especially when the kids mistake a nicety for a necessity. It's about teaching the essential humility required of adults to the next generation.

Show me a grown man who thinks he is "all that and a glass of ice water" and I will show you a child in need of a spanking.

If losing the passenger side of your hood mirror is the only problem that you have, then you have no problems. As long as you have good secure door mirrors on both sides of your truck, you are doing fine.

God bless every American and their families! God bless the U.S.A.!

what is the big deal ... when I started we never heard of a hood mirror in fact 95% of the trucks didn't even have hoods ...... and no power steering ...... no abs brakes ....... and 98% of drivers ran with the cb on . ... no automatic transmission ... no elog ....... prime and cr England were have way decent companies. .. was better in some ways and worse in others .... no driving test to get a chauffeur license ... was hard to find fast food and a lot more independent truck stops better food and worse food ..... no GPS everything done over a payphone. .. no tracking devices ... showers better now ... a lot more fun back then ... hunts point is most definitely better now .... $20 for gw bridge

Watch what you say young man. Your still GREEN, I have 43 years, and DOUGA has more time driving than you`ll ever see. what, you have maybe 10 years, still wet behind the ears. See this is the problem, you and some other green drivers want the recognition of driving over 40 years, but your not going to make it with a bad attitude. RESPECT your elders.

Correct,it was a cabover world back then. Hoods were mostly out west. Was leased with Daily Express in the early 70's,couple of hundred O/O's,all cabovers,55' overall length, east of the Missisip was the main reason. Things I had forgotten, yeah chauffers license, and it was just a piece of paper,no pictures or anything. Showers have gotten better, you used to have to take a shower with your wallet in your mouth,so you didn't get your pocket picked at community showers. Pic is my 1969 CO 4070A,150" wb.Hendrickson spring, mechanical seat, manual steering. No air ride on anything back then. Beat the hell out of you. On hot nights,I'd hang a hammock under the trailer to sleep, better than sleeping in that sweatbox sleeper. And freeze yur'### off in the winter in that drafty bistard.
    Enough old fart rant.
