Sir had I stayed in the service, I would have retired, with twenty 5 years ago. Ughhh. However, I wouldn't have my beautiful wife and children. My wife's father retired airforce, then went civil on the same base, and retired from that. They have so many checks coming in its just crazy. Just food for thought. You got 10 years left.

Dane, I suggest you apply to become a fleet manager for them. They require a 4 yr college degree OR they will consider NCOs as well and other supervisery experience.
When I went to my leaders 101 class thru jb hunt (leadership class for new managers) I met a 20 yr Gunny that they just hired to become a fleet manager.
If you're dead set on driving, jb hunt intermodal might actually be a good fit based on your requirements and I'm not a jb hunt fan boy whatsoever -
Keep an eye out nationally. FedEx has large air operations nationwide.
I realize moving the family can be a challenge, but my opinion on your situation is that leveraging your experience AND military service will yield the best career opportunities.DaneKirk Thanks this. -
