Cajun, just a SWAG, but I think the reason it doesn't sound right is because it isn't. I think you are getting 2 people mixed up. The Rookie is having 28% taken out in taxes and Flatbedder73 (the OP) is on a 1099.

    KW Cajun Thanks this.

Is it even legal in NJ to pay an employee driver, not an independent contractor, on a 1099? I don't think so.

Ah geeze, now I see. The OP & The Rookie use the same avatars and side by side (actually top/bottom) I got their posts mixed up.
I hate when that happens!!;) Thx for solving it for me!

Not a problem. I didn't realize they had the same avatars until you mentioned it. Completely understand, now, how you could get them mixed up.

In my opinon, no. But I do work for a union company. I normally work Mon-Fri averaging about $1600 to $1700 per week. I worked 11 hours today at double time. $587.18 for 11 hours of work. Of course, I recieve all the benefits come on top of my pay.

And before people tell you that I got lucky to find a union job, I just did my home work. It's not that hard.
