On average a normal driver will gross at least 1k PER WEEK with a mega company! Granted its around 850 net.
My Lord even megas will offer better benefits. The worst you can expect from a mega is to have a break down once every 6 months.
Nope, present place is a rip-off on a shoe string budget. Most megas are boasting at least 60k per year. Not saying you should go to a mega, just saying 36k a year for a driver is horrible pay. They found a sucker.Jinxninja, motocross25, Long FLD and 1 other person Thank this. -
Is beer truck gig still an option to go back to? I don't know the pay or anything but they way you described it sounded like an okay gig.

Thank you all for the eye opening advice and wisdom. Guess I needed to hear it from other people in the trucking industry to confirm my gut feeling.Lepton1 and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
Didnt read all 4 pages of responses.
You knew the answer before you asked the question.
3600 miles and 35-40 stops in a week? I dont no how your lighting that legal on e logs? -
Sysco and US foods is always looking for help for a reason.... think about it. Any company that is throwing out numbers on pay tend to be bad in my opinion. I don't know what you're into but LTL is where the money is as a company driver. Started off with 2 weeks vaca, paid holidays and birthday, the best benefits I've ever seen, and top pay. Making 70k+ here, not even full pay scale and that is our shortest run. Home daily.
Definitely better out there.Lepton1, SidewaysBentHalo, Jinxninja and 1 other person Thank this. -

The only thing I am wondering about is the comment about the temp company, you are paid by a third party?

Wayyyyyyy too much work, hassle, and stress for the money. That job is for ex cons, guys with cooked MVR/DACS, men dodging child support, etc. I'd take a road job at a mega over that deal.
Chinatown and FlaSwampRat Thank this. -
If you have a barebones cdl (no endorsements) you'll want to fix that before applying to companies in the ltl world.
Keep in mind the UPS freight truckload will be the contractor non union side of the company.
There is an advertisement for freight in that area as well. It will list it as ‘full time road driver.’ Once you click on it says its for ups freight.Lepton1 and FlaSwampRat Thank this.
