So the pay is kinda rough but that doesn't bother me at the moment because I'm looking at what I can do down the road. $1295 for them to get you your CDL. Taken out $25 a week and reimbursed if you stay a year. If you leave before a year you obviously owe them the balance of the $1295. That's a hell of a lot better (for me anyway) than signing on with a mega to get my license back and owing them 5k if I don't like it and want to leave. Hell I'd pay $1295 right now just to get my CDL back.

I got out of trucking for a while and said I would never go otr the road again. I was police officer for 8 years before I came back to driving. I hated everything about otr when I got out of it but now I enjoy it.

Not sure yet but probably. I have a offer to swing wrenches for trans am for considerably more money but they will be no assistance in getting my license back...I asked. I am expecting call backs from XPO who I am iffy on, if it was still Conway I would be at the door begging but I have heard mixed things about XPO. I am also expecting a call from Saia who I don't really know anything about but talked to two drivers that said you get micromanaged but we're happy. I can handle micromanaging, UPS invented micromanaging and I handled that for 15 years. I will probably take the beer job just because it's something that always interested me, I know it's not a forever job but a year in gives me a free CDL and that recent year of tractor trailer so I can go beg a union ltl shop for a linehaul...I think the linehaul is my goal and I'm willing to put a lil time in to get there. I interviewed for a warehouse job at the beer place with the intent to go drive but they said they would rather just get me out on the road....I'm okay with that. Another nice thing with them is no CDL mill to deal with. Practice in the yard and then your driver training is out with a trainer running actual routes, I like that better than sitting in a lot with a bunch of yet to be steering wheel holders. The trucks are new t680 daycabs. Slip seat which blows but it's quick, easy, and something I always wanted to do.

Omg, you drove before, you need an hour in the truck with someone to get you refreshed and go take a road test. You seem to be making this so hard that it is impossible to do when you, and I know the road test is sooooooooooooooo easy, a 16 year old can do it with a couple hours training.
