Progressive will insure you. I just got my authority and with prior cdl experience, they will write you. They are actually the best in price overall.

nice thread guys. It's encouraging to see the "mental" capacity mentioned in order to succeed in this business. Truer words have never been spoken. Stepping out on faith to start a new company is vital, along with the drive and determination to be the best. If your a lazy individual, you will not make it in this line of work. Be driven by those that not only support your decision, but be driven by those who depend on your support. Discipline,discipline,discipline.... Do your homework, and the discipline will follow with the right "mental" mindset. Like a wave headed towards land, you won't be stopped!!!

Yep nice thread, but i still think there should be a seperate type of forum for those who are leased to a carrier and those who have their own authority, its just my opinion, to me its like comparing apples to oranges. Like i said its just my opinion.
yotaman Thanks this. -
You are welcome, rebeloutlaw66. I try to be candid when I post, based upon my own experience. -
Progressive has always been high for me and I have been in the business for many years. They do seem to work for those starting out. I have spoken to several who used Progressive for their first year running their authority. I always send out bids on my insurance. This year was no exception. Progressive was among the highest for me. I have an excellent mvr and csa score and have been in business for many years with NO claims. I see no reason for me to have to pay high rates. I thought that Progressive would offer me lower rates, but that was not the case. I am glad that they worked for you, but I would recommend that you check around with other insurance companies at renewal time. Once you have run your authority for a year or two, you should find better rates. I was surprised to find that my rates with my insurance company were going up this year. I moved my business to one of their competitors this year even though I had been with my old insurance company for many years. -
Lets remember the op stated he wanted to buy a truck and lease on to a company, so all he would need is bobtail and phy.damage which he could most likely get through the carrier and just have it deducted from him settlement.
