If you want to pull tankers and you found a company considering you for tankers why run away before you find out? You are green, the company new it and said it, big deal. If you start in tankers your habits will be good for every other type of trucking. Knowing you don't know is step #1 to learning. You will learn to back but you will also have a trailer that's much easier to back than a 53 ft box. Nobody with a new CDL was much good until after they started working. Most tanker drivers say they wish they had gotten into it sooner. That's what convinced me after 20+ years dragging boxes.
Just remember with a loaded tanker you can brake hard or turn, but not both at the same time.meechyaboy and TravR1 Thank this.
