One thing you need to consider. The integrity of the company. Very important.
So many out there who are incompetent. They don't give a hoot about you or your CDL. They just want their results. I would have to say that is many....or most?
I went to tanker first job. It was awful. Upper management was good. But from the terminal manager on down. As far as they were concerned. You could just sacrafice your CDL to their company. ... They don't care.
Am I Overthinking It?

Youve got the right attitude. Put on your work boots and carharts, go to the truckstop nearest your house with a pad and pen. Ask the trucks with local addresses on the door if they know anyone around who will take a new cdl. Say you dont care if its 1099 and they suck, youll take anything. Guys will go into their phone, call their buddy, take your number. Youll find your starter seat. Even 2 weeks will help you move up a notch.
That auto restriction will prevent most of these leads from panning out but something will. Also leave your name at the parts counter of big truck parts places, the local fuel terminal and lumber/brick/block supply. Anywhere with air brake trucks, just make a day of it.Cee El in Ess Cee and Linte_Loco Thank this. -
Scrap yards always need drivers for rollback and a lot of those trucks are airbrake automatics. Hino and UD if i remember right. A scrapyard is the kinda place that wont care what your restrictions are.. Theyll let you teach yourself how to drive that manual deathtrap and the law usually wont hassle the drivers on non interstate local roads. Ive known many who never had any license. Poverty wages of course.
