Trillium may have something for you. I worked for a temp agency one time and the pay is really good and usually has benefits.

The company I work for had subpar trucks. It was a nightmare. I liked the work itself, I liked my co-workers… those #### trucks. I stuck it out and am now in a brand new truck. They replaced the old fleet last month. Small company. The grass isn’t always greener.

On a side note, I’m so glad the automatic restriction wasn’t a thing when I got my cdl. I would have gotten that, and I’d be kicking myself. A lot of good small companies still have mostly manuals. Something to think about.

Same I love the company and the job. But I’m feeling like I’m gonna be sidelined for doing my job and actually inspecting the equipment because I’m “inconvenient” especially when they have guys who just run whatever they have no matter the condition and take the risk. When I got into the industry I was expecting an otr for two years and counted myself lucky I got a nice local gig with no experience. So on the one hand it’s nice and I don’t want to lose it. On the other hand this isn’t the first time I’ve lost a days pay because of our ####ty leadership.

Do you love the job or is it just a habit because it's your first job?

Probably cuz it’s my first job and it’s easy drop and hook vans. I guess I get worried if I give it up I’ll get stuck with something worse. I’m 43 and we just had a baby so I’m kinda nervous about rocking the boat. Maybe I should have more self esteem and say I don’t want to work for someone who doesn’t care about my own safety.

If you can't see it getting better soon, time to, as they say, move along.

If you have a year (or more) of CDL experience under your belt -- it's safe to look around, & then move on.

If you don't yet have AT LEAST ONE YEAR already to your credit -- stay put, until you do.

I understand that; I was 42 or 43 with a wife and 4 children and had that difficult decision also. I said to myself, "screw it" and jumped to another company. Yeah, that worked out ok. I just needed a push to get out of that rut I was in. I pushed myself and it paid off.

Why are they pulling you out of a "perfectly working truck" and into a junker ?
