Age doesn't matter in trucking as long as you can pass the DOT physical.
olddog_newtricks and rachi Thank this. -

Yes, those may not be the most reputable companies outthere but it's highly likely some will hire/train you.

Im 55 years old, I start truck driving school Dec 9. I already got my CDL permit and endorsements.....If you have the desire and can pass your DOT physical go for it.New-to-the-game and Adelmo Thank this.

Usually young truckers are told they have until a certain age to be in trucking due to the amount of manual labor in those days.
Today considering that the rigs almost drive themselves you just need to pass the DOT physical AND NOT at a concentra etc. (Don't even enter.) -
What does driver age have to do with hiring company reputability? I’d like to understand that relationship better.
-
As long as you have a half way decent heartbeat and a good mvr you will be hired.

I would imagine that there must be a cutoff point at some age, maybe 75?
