words won't be enough... plenty of warm bodies with paper trails, etc. But....call and get their opinions versus some quacks on the internet.

§ 391.23 subsection C paragraph 4
Exception. For drivers with no previous employment experience working for a DOT regulated employer during the preceding three years, documentation that no investigation was possible must be placed in the driver history investigation file, after October 29, 2004, within the required 30 days of the date the driver's employment begins.

I haven't looked or even attended school yet. After that call from Stevens I got worried and decided to ask for some opinions on here and did some googling. It turns out that I'm pretty much screwed. If companies like Werner will turn people down for their employment history then I have no hope. Werner is the primary recruiter out of the school I was planning to attend.

wouldn't the first time the girl friend or wife was the bread winner. if so, say so.

Probably not the best idea but you could try Western Express, though I caution you to use them only as a last resort.

I made decent money, there is just no way to verify it that I can think of. I'll call some companies on monday and see what kind of documentation they would require to verify what I've been doing for nearly 10 years.dca Thanks this.

try swift if you havent already. I know people bash them but they still will provide you with a solid foundation for your new career. They are the largest carrier in the nation so they can afford to take a chance on a guy like you. If swift turns you down its time to worry. Then you will be reduced to carriers like Western Express or a fly-by-night 1099 company. Look i started at a 1099 company and it worked out for me and now im local netting 1000 a week. But im not going to lie, going that route is difficult in a lot of different ways, it depends how bad you want it.

Your word alone probably won't be enough, but 3 years is easy enough to explain. Gotta have someone available to back up that time? Keep it simple... like I said already, homemakers do this all the time and then live's change and said homemaker is forced to go to work, etc.

Just say you were living in Canada with your girl friend an didn't have to work and now it's time to settle down and be serious in a career. It will be a problem with some companies though. Do some online apps and follow with a phone call. If they don't have online apps, just call.
Here's some to check with:
Kalmbach Feeds - Sandusky,OH
Nick Strimbu Inc. - Brookfield,OH
PI&I Motor Express - Masury,OH
NTB Trucking
Navajo Express
Paschall Truck Lines
TransAmG13Tomcat Thanks this.
