Blood clots is no joking matter. In 08 I had to have a surgery to remove a tumor from my spine. Third day in ICU I developed a blood clot in my leg that when I had to stand up to try to walk broke off and broke in two and went to each lung causing respiratory distress. Hence the reason it is a serious issue on our DOT physicals. I can only get one year cards and have to take in the paper with my INR to get it. I see my pharmacist every 6 weeks if everything is good, I use the VA system. Normal INR is between 2.0 and 3.0. Anything and everything affects blood thinners as they are not a time released thing it changes every couple days. OTC meds, certain foods, illness and with me the temperature changes it. My numbers last month were 3.7 and I have to go every 2 weeks for a check and adjustment. We can not figure out why it changed after being stable for so long. We changed my dose to 2.5 MG less per week. I was taking 7.5 6 days and 10 one day, yes that is a very very minute difference but that is all it takes, hence the reason blood clots are so serious.

And yes that shot sucks, I had to continue that for a week after my release and had to have someone else do it for me as I got halfway through the dosage and couldn't finish it stung so bad.

when I took my latest Dot physical
Dr had me walk on my toes tthen on my heels
close my eyes touch my toes
I thought I was going to have to do the alphabet backwards
    flashback to a 1982 DUI
but as an ex 400 lb person
none of that would have been possible
to receive a 2 year medical card

Is that it.?...Have you ever been to one of those 2 hour physicals..They bring you to this room that looks like a gym and they work you over pretty good..

I wonder if this type of physical will be standard quo...I am in pretty darn good shape and this physical was not that easy...

I see many many men and woman truckers, bus drivers and cabbies that are very very big people and out of shape.??..I would imagine that they could not pass this test...

Your right DOT should let you drive, when you have a heart attack or a stroke you can take out some expecting family when you go.
