"We think that building a third-party logistics network will allow Amazon to blow out retail peak season. By taking no margin during soft freight seasons and keeping trucks running, AMZN will have capacity locked up and ready to move truly staggering e-commerce volumes in November and December."

People will beleive anything without giving it a good thaught
How can you keep capacity locked up and cut rates in the same time??
To keep capacity locked up amazon needs to offer something more than their counterpart on the brokerage industry and thats money.
The cycle of truck capacity/freight volume will continue to change and thats a fact,
Only the goverment can stop the cycle by regulating trucking again.

Vitkouski, roshea and Lepton1 Thank this.

After taking 17 days off due to the crappy rates , I went back to work.
( 2019 first quarter I run about 16,000 miles) and I noticed that the rates are worse than it was 2 weeks ago.
A Broker offered barely 2 per mile to a death area . I asked for 3 per mile . He basically laughed at me. He said I’m giving you 200 dollars more than what I usually pay for it .
I bet , he does . I believe him. After I talked to a bunch of O/O It confirmed my doubts.
Having said that , I also believe that many of us accept crappy rates is because we are IGNORANTS. We don’t know better . We don’t know about this site or any other place where we can get information. We don’t know where or how to educate ourselves..
so, I believe that if we, every time , get a chance to talk to someone and pointed to the right direction where to find information and he/she can make his/her own decisions, it will be a benefit for all of us .
I try to do my part . I talk to people about this site. I’m not trying to give a lecture to anyone on how to run their businesses, but we have to understand that we are in the same boat and your problems will become our problems sooner or later .
