Hello All -
Does anyone know if Amazon has its own semi drivers? I am aware that many companies drive solely for Amazon, but my question is whether Amazon has its own fleet (similar to Walmart)...
If yes, does anyone know of a link to apply or at least see the requirements?
Thank you in advance for responses.

Can anyone answer me this?
Why do people seek out what is already known to be about the lowest paying jobs out there?
I mean, ok putting up with a mega for a year before moving on I can see. Need experience and all that.
But why would someone on purpose go looking for a low paying job when so many other options are around? -
This is a good question, friend. Being new to the industry, I’m still learning and your reply is helpful. Feel free to suggest some of the “other options” and I will research them.

Look at pay, read reviews, and most of all don't be afraid to look at companies you've never heard of before.
What is your location? Experience? Prefered type of work? (van, flat, bulk, etc) Any endorsements? Any hits to MVR or DAC?
Answer those and I'm sure @Chinatown can point you to a few places that actually pay ok. -
I guess people seek the big name companies and believe that they are among the best to drive for. When i first applied for a trucking job, cr england was the first company i applied for. They turned me down because i thought i had a speeding ticket on my record, turns out i didnt though. Best decision i ever made to be honest. You really have to be in the industry to filter the bad from the good. People looking into the industry have no idea whats it like, its what these mega carriers prey on. Almost every industry is like this to be honest. They all prey on the uninformed and gullible to abuse and use them.meechyaboy, D.Tibbitt and ZVar Thank this.

They don't prey on the gullible as much as lower a net and the gullible get tangled in the net. The most common post here is the "I just signed a contract with ABC Trucking. Are they a good company? I start tomorrow." The world is not a kindergarten. Nobody cares about your well-being as much as you should. If some drivers don't bother doing research and agree to work for 20 cents per mile it would be foolish to not hire them. The company is obligated to make money for their owners. It's your and my job to look before we leap into a company. Like a courtroom, the system depends on one side fighting hard for their desired outcome and the other side fighting hard for their desired outcome. Showing up and not fighting isn't a flaw in the system, it's a flaw in the participant. Make decisions like the outcome is important. Every alternative system produces worse outcomes, even the ones that sound friendly and safe.D.Tibbitt, Suspect Zero, 88 Alpha and 1 other person Thank this.

The short answer at this time is for the most part, no. The vast majority of their fleet is made up of contractors and leased drivers. The long answer is that in the future, they'll probably adopt some sort of Wal-Mart-like private fleet because the movement to 1-day shipping pretty much necessitates this. Now what that may look like is unknown at this point, but alot of industry observers see them making a big transportation acquisition in the future. JB Hunt looks like a very good fit, but nobody really knows for sure.tscottme Thanks this.

Thank you for answering my question.

Amazon has their own drivers for delivery to homes. They cannot be bothered to take a moment to be able to take care of basic human requirements while rushing the packages to the impatient online buyers.
Amazon is one of the hottest sweatshop type industry evolved situations today. You are going to hate it there. They will try to machineify you if that word makes sense. Your first purchase will be a pee bottle so you can stay on the job in the truck or at the workstation.
If I wanted to work for amazon, it will be strictly one type of work. Armed with a command device and taming robots inside their fence when they go wild inside the warehouse. And go wild they will. (And they want robot truckers? HA...)
Make sure you have AFlac up and medical coverage with low or no deductable. You must plan on getting hurt there within the year.
