I remember reading an article in 2010 or thereabouts about how Amazon planned to eventually haul most of their own packages. Initially I thought there is no way they can take UPS or Fed Ex out of their supply chain. The more articles I could find the more I believed they would and I saw an opportunity for myself due to my knowledge of transportation. I bought 200 shares at $845 a share which was before the 20-1 split. If you adjust the split out currently the price is $4295 a share. In the original article I read Amazon was looking to take a Billion dollars a year out of their supply chain costs. They have spent much of their profits building their Air and ground delivery network but now move more packages than UPS or FedEx. When I built a new rig in 2015 for $285,000, I was initially going to sell my Amazon to pay for most of it. I am so glad now I didn’t sell the Amazon to do that.
I still keep my distance from their trailers on the highway, but I see dollar signs every time I pass one. I thought they would eventually either unbrand their trailers or hire a professional fleet of drivers to safely move their trailers. In my opinion all the low budget amateurs they have pulling their trailers now would be a public relations nightmare.

Can't say I'm real impressed by the performance of most of it, but I figure by the time I croak it all should be worth something. It's not for me, it's mostly for the grandchildren. I don't really need the money so, I'm in it for the long haul. -
