I'm working on buying my own truck. Considering starting out with Amazon relay. I have been driving truck for 5 years. Tired of working for BS companies. I can't decide if I should rent or buy a box truck to start off with before I buy a tractor. How's the pay with Amazon Relay? Is it even worth it? Do I need to get my hazmat? Can you pick and choose your loads so that you your able to be home everyday or are you forced to grab OTR loads to make a decent paycheck? I live in Puyallup, WA, near Seattle.

I would avoid it. Nothing but horror storys from anyone ive ever known to work for them. A better option would be to get a decent tractor and either find a good local gig with a small carrier, sign up to a mega like landstar for OTR stuff. Or to find a small carrier to do OTR. Your sanity will thank you.

Does Amazon require 3 trucks still and your own authority?

You don’t need hazmat for Amazon. Yes, you can pick and choose your own loads. Book anything you like. Drop and hook mostly with some loads live unload, but not many! Again, you can see where it goes before you book it. Not all stops are Friendly and many are headaches and long waiting at the gates etc... give it a try but don’t let it be your bread winner. I suggest you buying your own trailer and do a little bit of that and Amazon. Remember, Amazon is not really a all year long choice. It could be but they do have cheap cheap freight too. Have fun

Lmao! You can't be serious! First of all.... you never pulled for amazon and you're telling people to STAY AWAY? And telling them to sign onto a small carrier THAN in the same sentence, sign onto a mega carrier?

You clearly read the last part wrong. He was saying sign on with a mega like Landstar for going OTR instead of getting your own authority.
