Not making light of any of this...but accidents happen and when you have a vehicle that has the right-of-way based upon the use of their emergency equipment (sirens/lights) there is always going to be a chance that another driver fails to see them at an intersection or any other circumstances. I knew a nice young man that worked for our volunteer fire department that was killed one night at a railroad crossing on the way to a fire. Sad thing was that this track was only used twice a day by a train that made local deliveries/pick-ups at a company that made auto parts. The chance of encountering a train on that track are almost slim to none. That being said, I'm sure this young man was caught up in responding to the fire and he never thought twice about those railroad tracks. Accidents happen. The same can be said about choppers. A couple of times a year some medi-vac chopper goes down and sadly it usually results in everyone being a fatality.

I'd say that's the ultimate definition of a bad day!
-
Well...my definition of bad day is only when those words are used in conjunction with "the deceased".
"semi" retired Thanks this. -
If it is an ALS run and only a paramedic in the back, the driver may be able to check out the patient. The paramedic can be sued for leaving their patient under abandonment. In most cases the driver is a paramedic or emt.
They would be held at the scene and two other ambulances sent, one for you and their patient.
I was in an ambulance with a patient when it was struck in the rear by a semi. No other hopeless feeling that sitting there watching it get bigger. The patient was immediately transferred to another ambulance. We were held up for paperwork. -
What happens when the entire fire department is involved? http://abc13.com/archive/6735613/#gallery-8

Hi Guntoter, I've seen that before, and doesn't make a lick of sense. 2 cop cars? That's pure stupidity, but this is just a shame. I mean, firefighters are truly trying to help someone, and even they are human and make mistakes.

What's so enjoyable about an ambulance wreck?
-
Hi patty, I think they mean, considering the horrors they usually see, this was enjoyable because maybe it wasn't that serious.pattyj Thanks this.

Did you charge the driver of the 4 wheeler with "Obscured Vision"?
