Delivered in Georgia . this load paid 574mi x 1.44 826.56 . I spent 275.00 on fuel so this load 551.56
My next load is going back to Indiana 667miles it only weighs 10,400. so ill get good fuel. It delivers Thursday I plan on being there Wednesday. Hope they unload me early because i will be there . -
Are you able to choose loads based on what they pay or are you paid a flat rate from the company? Also, can you refuse a load without penalty if you don't want any of the ones they offer you?
-
You can choose loads if they offer more than 1 load. We are paid a flat rate. $1 per loaded mile plus fsc if you have hazmat end. If you refuse a load then you dont get paid mt miles. If i cant or dont want to do a load i usually tell them in a free form msg and they usually get me something else without loosing my mt miles.lexmark Thanks this.

Delivered the load to Indiana . Then was preplanned on a load from Ohio to Georgia 286miles deadhead 594miles loaded.
Ran into a snow storm from Elkhart to Ohio took me 2.5 hrs to change a tire and put on a mud flap meanwhile the snow was falling fast. By time i got to Ohio ran into a traffic jam in columbus bypass that took another Hr. Then the snow started to fall again this time its getting late and the roads were getting slick.
By the time i made it to shipper i should of had 5hrs atleast on my elogs instead i had 2. This put me behind the 8ball for delivery. So i had to run 65 most of the way in order to make appt . There goes all my fuel on a heavy load.
There are some drivers that preach here that you are blowing money out your exhaust why your driving 65. And that you need to slow down. Those are the ones that are on paper logs. On elogs we dont have the luxury to run 53 and log 65 . Time is critical . Service failures will get you wrote up here so you gotta run hard to make appts sometimes because of weather traffic etc. puts you behind the 8 ball.
I made the appt by 15min. However it cost me fuel . But thats the way it goes . I had cpl light loads this week so it evens out hopefully.
Loaded Miles 594x1.44=855.36
Empty Miles 269x1.34=360.46
Total Rev 1215.82
Fuel 120g 459.60 (fuel cost doesnt reflect discount price. This load I bought fuel in Ft Wayne 3.83gal)
Cleared 756.22 -
Today is Friday my next load im gonna deadhead to Sc for a load that picks up on Sunday for a Tuesday deliver.
The deal with this load is i wanna pick it up on Saturday midnight not due till 6am Sunday for pick up. But Michelin pretty good about letting you pick up a load after midnight the day of pick up date. This hopefully will expand my window by 6hrs for delivery and maybe get it in Kc by Monday before consignee closes 5pm. Payroll deadline Monday Midnight so i gotta make this work . My other offers were Tuesday deliver appt only and a Wednesday appt only. This Michelin load was the only 1 i have a chance to expand my window to make it work . So i took it. Sometimes thats what you gotta do to make payroll with miles.Kutina Thanks this. -
I believe BigKid said he was going home for a week so there will be more miles to go around . Another driver went home for his birthday . Everybody drop in and say Happy Happy to truckim2055 you get a chance.
Kutina Thanks this. -
Made my delivery in Kansas City . Got my bunk heater fixed Short on hrs for today dispatch in the morning.
This load weighed 40,147 Had to run this load harder than i like so i could make payroll 887loaded 168 MT. I had 12 min left on my elog so this was close. But like i said sumtimes you gotta run harder than you like if you want the miles for payroll. Had i ran 55 like i wanted to i would of came up 80miles short .
Total miles 2710 x 1.44= 3902.40
Mt Miles 628 x 1.34= 841.52 Total revenue for the week 4743.92
Most of this trip i ran 62 65mph I ended up using 151g of fuel for this trip . Diesel cost me 543.60 pump price.
Ill post my numbers for another week maybe 2 .You should have an idea by then what we avg here. Some do better . Ive had loads were i didnt buy any fuel that 100% profit. Those type of loads always put icing on the cake also light loads. Its very possible to run 2200 miles a week a take 1525.00 home Ive done it before only once tho but still it possible.
