So if a kid is riding his bike in the road and a truck strikes him it's the bikes fault?

Or a tree falls across that excuses you or your buddy being out of control and unable to stop?

I forsee more forays into the ditch for you and your buddy! Learn to drive your vehicle and remain in control, which by the way includes being able to make sudden unexpected stops" and those you just might stay out of the ditch.

And I suspect jealousy about SS tax. I know I am. Hell Imve thought about converting just to avoid that #### ponzi scheme. But the whole bowing to someone always prevents me.

If the bike in question darts into the the travel lane from the shoulder or the white lane Yes

It falls 10 feet in front of you doing 55mph your not going in the ditch, your gonna hit the tree.

For some reason in your dream world you think a person should remain in control of a car or truck at all times, well stay at home tazz because sometimes things happen so fast even your pea brain wont be able to keep you in control.

BTY...this truck driver should be your hero if in fact he was on drugs, after all your said you could not be a cop because you could not enforce drug laws.

No...they don't use fuel or really place much wear on the surface...but they do pay property taxes which do have a % going toward local roadways.

YES...they have a battery light for dark hours movement...and the reflective triangle on the back of the buggy.

Your rules or the common sense rules they are taught as they are learning to drive the buggy by their parents and older siblings?

They are self employed, and as families and communities they do pay property tax, self employment tax (Federal), and how do you know they don't have SS#'s?

Yes you are very jaded that you believe as you do....all this because a friend of yours had a close encounter....somehow I don't think that is what your real gripe is about.

So tell me KW, how do you feel about John Deere tractors taking up half the road and have a parade of cars following them because they can't pass safely and the operator won't pull over further on the shoulder to give more room for passing?
I grew up in SW Wis., I've dealt with SMV's. I drive OTR pulling 48' spread flats pulling lumber occasionally out of those Amish farms near Sparta. Number one thing you need to learn is to expect the unexpected on those back roads.

What do you and your buddy do in the fall when the deer are active? Mow them over?

Ah another comprehension failure. No where have you ever seen me advocating drug use. Nope not one #### time. Pay attention and I'll type real slow so your low sppeed connection can grasp the concept. I do not believe my nor your money should be used to stop someone's personal choice. Now if they are caught operating a vehicle while doing any drug including those" legal" ones they should be summarily shot. See the OP about volunteering for the firing squad to end this waste if proven he was on drugs.

As your reading fails to be in control, I assume your driving much like the milk boy is too. There is no time you should not be able to make a controlled stop. That is a fact. If your driving to fast to make that stop you are out of control. Yes I know you big boys say "But the speed limit is......". That would be the maximum you should be traveling in perfect conditions. Sometimes( and brace yourself) you should not be doing the speed limit because your driving a vehicle that requires a special set of conditions( clean, dry, straight, well lit, limited access) for conditions to be excellent. Now when those conditions do not exist it is the professional drivers responsibility to adjust their speed accordingly to remain in control. Anytime you can not stop within your sight distance your out of control.

Yes I know the big long nose and really cool pipes are supposed to make you a big ol trucking pro. Fallacy and fantasy, maintaining control of your vehicle, avoiding accidents and tickets, and carry your self and your equipment in an orderly profficient manner make you a professional driver.

Morning news says He is charged with DUI(narcotic) and that he was reaching for a legal drug(cigarette ) when he struck the buggy. #### drug addicts see them all the time swerving and littering. I digress.

Officer in charge say's blood work will be in later this week or early next but driver basically admitted to usage. He is charged DUI, One count vehicular homicide, three counts attempted homicide.

Ah...Another life lesson being taught to us by the person on these forums with the most obvious tendency to not have a clue about how to carry himself.
You know TAZZ you seem to think that everyone else here is beneath you and that you are the only one that knows how to do this job right...Personally I think you are probably actually one of the worst drivers here (If you've ever even really been inside a truck) and your constant putdowns and slams of everyone else that has any opinion that differs from your considerably flawed opinions makes me have some fairly strong opinions about the type of weakling that you probably really are.

Just because you can't seem to find anyone to hire you to drive a nice piece of equipment doesn't mean that no one else should have one.

07-379PETE is one of the better drivers I known in my life and knows his business inside and out...So for some dimwitted loudmouth with authoritarian leanings to slam him because of the type of truck he drives and the way he chooses to set it up and for that same dimwited loudmouth to decide that he's a bad or dangerous driver because of that truck is beyond pathetic.

This is still America and we are still free to choose how we run our businesses and what type of equipment we wish to represent our business with...It will continue to be America until people like you destroy it by bending over and allowing other authoritarians to regulate freedom out of existince.

So....The Schneider driver in the "dead slow" truck couldn't seem to keep it under control and hit the buggy.
The Schneider driver was under the influence of "some kind of drug" and yet our friend TAZZ uses this tragedy as yet another platform from which to launch his pshycho babble attacks on all drivers that don't think as he does.

If in fact this Schneider driver turns out to have been "under the influence" he ought to be tossed on the trash heap of society and left there to rot!
But this LOSER in no way reflects on the professionalism of the true pros out here that do our jobs well and run up and down the highways of this country many many thousands of miles every year without having any incidents or problems because we apply ourselves to our profession thoroughly and seriously.

    I could not agree more.

The news story points out that it appeared the driver was under the influence of something. Only time will tell.

My prayers and condolences to the family.
