Yeah, it’s a pumper truck. It’s a decent gig. You’ll likely back in and they tell you how much to pump off and the hands move from hole to hole with the hose as you run the pump.

    Ammonium nitrate slurry compositions
    Abstract
A slurry composition based essentially on ammonium nitrate, prepared by a process which comprises comminuting solid substance containing ammonium nitrate by grinding in the presence of a saturated solution of solid in a liquid in which the solid has a solubility greater than 1% by weight, the mixture of the solution and the solid being in fluid condition with the solid being a separate phase during grinding and the solution having dissolved therein an additive which is a crystal growth inhibitor for the solid whereby crystal growth is inhibited at both existing crystal surfaces and new crystal surfaces created by the breaking down of relatively coarse particles.

Ammonium nitrate is the main component of slurry explosives used for mining. However, the source of ammonium nitrate used for improvised explosive mixtures is often fertilizer. Fertilizer-grade ammonium nitrate can be powdered or in the form of prills.

I hauled explosives long haul exclusively for 10 years…good money. What you talking about is likely the slurry truck that works on site. My area that would be $35 hour…Its not dangerous by any stretch,, Only slurry I hauled was heated tanks they loaded in my trailer, it was a trial thing,,,did not work out.
Hauling explosives in Canada was very lucrative until govt decided any low rent outfit could haul powder and in mixed loads with LTL, as well the high explosives factory in Quebec closed up and moved to Joplin where they could get folks to work for buttons. I think they still manufacture the caps in Brownsburg PQ

thanks all guys. it was pretty much as described. home every day, decent money, good crew, lots of room for advancement. doesn't look scary a bit. Just more 12 hour days. I said yes.
...then my old career popped up and said I've paid my dues LOL!!! so I'm back to the true love of my life career wise and #### good money at it too!
I did pay for my hazmat endorsement, just in case... the blasters said I'd be welcome back if I change my mind and apparently the hazmat process gets stupider next week so I'm just keeping an extra ace up my sleeve and hope to never need it ;-)

well I used to be a structural steel designer, blueprints and such. started out at Newport News Shipbuilding in the New Carrier team working on the CVN-21 class design (Gerald Ford class) But don't blame me for the problems , I was just a cog LOLOLOL
A local large general contractor has just taken me on to be an estimator (in training) 40-50 hr work week, full benefits which my flatbed boss couldn't do with only 4 trucks.
It's only 2/3 the money I made pulling the flatbed but honestly while hitting the 6 digits was nice, I don't need that kind of money. the more you make the more you spend. I'm a homebody and a maker. if I can afford a few hundred bucks of home depot stuff every month AND be home to make stuff with it!!!!! Heaven :) Plus as my knees and shoulder get creakier I like the idea I can roll into work in a wheelchair and still get the job done...
TLDR- engineering tech. used to be pictures, now its spreadsheets
