Depends on what you want to do.
Do you use the SSB portion of your Galaxy? If so you'll want a class AB amp. They also have a cleaner sound. The trade off is they're not as efficient as a class C amp.
Do you just use the AM portion of your radio? if so, either AB or C will work, the C is more efficient than the AB but they're also known as "splatter boxes" as they tend to throw out a dirtier signal.
Also it depends on how much power you think you need and if you drive for a company that won't allow you to wire accessories straight to the battery like an amp has to be. -
Sounds to me like you just talk on channel 19. Get a DaveMade or Fatboy 1 x4 .Thats all you need.

The best way is get a radio shop to tune your radio. Most will go way over ten watts. They will advise you of a good antenna. Over 5 watts is not legal, but sometimes needed. I do NOT advocate breaking the law, just saying. I recommend a ham license for long range transmission. I use a Magnum Delta Force with a 350 Palomar, OOps I didn't say that,

i hope you are not wanting an amp to talk to a driver 10 trucks ahead of you. that is why things are so bad today. every moron and their brother out there running 500 watts to talk a half a mile. and what makes it even worse is none of the equipment has been properly tuned. they all sound like s4!t.
Channel Jumper, EZ Money, Turbo-T and 1 other person Thank this.
