MOST " 10 meter amps " AKA illegal CB ones are trash generators There are few HAM amps that you can run mobile and they are not cheap .....

Good reading if you go with tube amps ....

Yes... a tube amp would be nice. Would need a power inverter to supply the right amount of current... This one I may consider. I know TUBES are nice...Also keep me warm at night!

You really don't want a tube Amp in a mobile or your just asking for more problems than you would be willing to put up with.
For what (I think) your wanting to do, stick with Fatboy, Davemade, Texas Star, Palomar, or XForce or something along those lines if your planning on using it for CB use...
The so-called "Ham Amps" listed above would be just as illegal to use with a CB as the ones I mentioned...gravelhauler Thanks this. -
i run a 8 tube amp have for years draws very little power wont harm computer,no problems
-
I hear alot of good things about Fatboys. I ran a Texas Star 667 for awhile. Seemed to be a really good linear.

I have a Maverick 500 that I have had since 1997 and haven't used it in years, it worked real good. The guy that built them is no longer in business as the FCC raided his place and stole just about everything he had. He built a nice unit.

I have a DaveMade that I have used for several years with no problems. I also had good luck with some Palomars, although DaveMade seems to put out a bit better with less hassle and more reliability.
