You don't look silly, you didn't know. There's a difference. I don't know why "they" come off the line this way and how I deal with it is:I usually go to Cali from MN in a straight line and like to start my day at 2-3am so if I need DEF-not a real problem. (still get razzed over C.B. though sometimes) How others deal with it? Maybe what you saw in New Caney..

Dont they sell that DEF Fluid in 5 gallon jugs inside those mega truckstops?
Just Fuel up traditionally, then buy a jug or 2 for the DEF tank..No Moving the truck twice -
It's more $$ that-a-way..
-
I calculated what I got MPG wise, 180 MPG for DEF. I'm glad I'm not the only one that looks at you weird wondering why you're the wrong way on the fuel island. You can also buy the jugs and refill them with bulk DEF, no? But, lets be real, filling containers, than lugging a heavy container and trying not to spill the crap every where. No thanks.

The Pilot/J seem to be a hummingbird feeder for steering wheel holders. I just stick to the TA/Petros since they usually have a lot more space and I get a great fuel discount there. I try not to let the selfish inconsiderate drivers get to me but some days it really takes a lot to remain cool.

I get better discounts at the FJP, kinds stuck with them if I want to save money each week.not4hire Thanks this.

IF you are having to inconvenience yourself by using the pilot/Flying J. and I Stress INCONVENIENCE yourself........Odds are you aren't making enough $$$ then.
Make a Change, Then you can Fuel Anywhere and free yourself from the inconveniences of Mega-Truckstop disaster -
It's not about making enough, it is about saving money. I am in business to make the best profit possible. If I can save $15/week. That is a new steer tire a year, gotta think big picture. If I have to deal with Zippy the Pin Head to get a free tire, I deal with him/her.

Ok...I can see that then. -
Isn't there a magnet on the DEF nozzle that connects to the magnet on the DEF tank? So filling a container of DEF at the bulk pump won't work. I run a truck old enough to vote, so don't need def,
stayinback Thanks this.
