1.The payments depend on the truck. The older the truck the cheaper the payment. Also, the make and models of the trucks will count.
2. When you lease you are not running for miles. The loads differ on pay and you are paid a %
3. Flatbedders are restricted to flat. Tankers to tanks and then reefer to reefer.
4. Nope, not that I know of.

I seem to remember somewhere someone who was a solo lease driver at Prime said he was averaging about 500-700 takehome (before taxes) but I couldn't remember where I saw it -
However, I can tell you my payment was 711 a week. That was for a 2007 freightliner. The APU will run somewhere around 75.00 a week. My fixed costs ran 890.00 per week.
I have friends there leasing a 2009 pete and will get you those numbrs when she calls back.
The FSC is NOT the industry standard..When I left I think it was .13...They do have a network discounts at T/A, Pilots, Loves and some of the independent places. I think the discounts were something like cost +.05. You will pay for ALL fuel including the reefer.
Miles really fluctuated after the recession began. I still did decent though. 500 -900 were my numbers from about Jan. on. It did become more of struggle to achieve though.
Something else to consider is Prime is implementing paperless logs. They are phasing it in and the last I heard it will be fleet wide by the end of the year.
Hope that helps. Any other questions don't be hesitant to ask.pbrstreetgang Thanks this. -
As far as paperless logs go ... uggh. Well, maybe since I'm getting older this won't be bad, because instead of squeezing in that extra mile I can sit in the sleeper and relax. Also it sounds like Prime is better than Swift as far as making you do things you don't have time for. Thanks again! -
KH seems to be pushing this JCT thing. and there are some good threads about them. but one has to wonder, if they company is that hot. that explains why everyone and there dog wants to work for them. but how can they continue to hire on such a high scale. i mean. is the company expanding or something????? orientation is so full that your looking at 3 months before getting there. they only have 700 trucks, (or something to that effect). they are hiring all these people. and they continue to hire. is the company growing??? i haven't seen any threads about people quitting or being replaced. or actually making it to the end of that lease for the $1 buyout. lots of people going in. but nothing about people going out.
we all know about the turnover of other big companies, that explains why they keep hiring and hiring. but what's the real deal with JCT??? cuz i've only seen one story on here. and that story sure has some miles going down -
I push JCT because if something does not work out, you are not debt in the middle of the lease unlike other companies where they will screw you out of every cent. Also, JCT pays reefer fuel. But these are our own opinions.
