I thought the trucks were priced a little high until I realized that the ones I have been looking at have APU's on them. I think that is why.
I am looking at an 06 Century with 610k, 13 spd, with an APU for 44k
Seems like an OK deal. With the lease deal they offered me I will end up paying about 49k total. 1800 for 24 months plus 6k on the end.
An in depth look at the various lease programs

how good is Roehl's lease
-
Well here I am. Sitting # the TA in Commerce Georgia in my '06 Century. Yep, I jumped over that cliff. Got a truck through Schneider Finance and leased with Schneider. So far so good. Haven't been fleeced yet. I've been on the road for about 2 1/2 weeks, averaging about 3k miles/wk, 6.7 mpg, and after truck payments, insurance, fuel, 3 sets of chains (I live in Oregon), $.12/mile set aside for maintenance, I've taken home about $2500. I'm in touch with another guy who was in orientation with me, also going through Schneider Finance, and he has had about the same results.
I was a little leery about jumping in with Schneider because the are one of those GIANT companies. The only other giant trucking company I've worked for is Werner, and that was the worst job I've ever had, although some drivers seem to have a better experience with them. Anyway, to me, Schneider seems way better than Werner. At least they haven't made any false promises. I'm actually doing better than what my recruiter told me is the fleet avg miles/week, he said 2700. Doesn't mean much since I've only been at it for less than 3 weeks but it is a good sign. Just glad I'm not sitting around for days waiting for a load. The Challenger, knighton5, david07003 and 2 others Thank this. -
Good to read a positive story in all this lease stuff. Glad things are going well and that you're having a good, profitable time!
Keep it up! -
You were doing a great job on explaining leases. I want to see more of your research.
By the way, I dont drive, but plan to, part time. Keep in mind that I do have experience working in truck based companies, with one job requiring me to write down hub meter numbers. I would have to log hundreds of trucks everyday and listen to the drivers curse their lease agreements.
You dont have to drive to work in the trucking industry.
And I dont think that you are portraying yourself as an experienced driver in anyway; this is the business side of the business, the place in the office where you have to be careful with the guys wearing the suits reside.
Most drivers dont have the patients that you do to research this stuff. Keep up the good work. The Challenger and Baack Thank this. -

Thank you for your kind words. I have not done any research due to the fact I have school, and am learning how to drive. If anyone is leasing with Roehl and does but want to give their numbers on their lease, please send me a pm. If anyone does want to share their lease experience with the companies, please share your story or pm me so I can.
KHBaack Thanks this. -
