Baldwin Distribution
Requirements: N/A
Type of lease: standard lease with $1 buyout in the end
Governed speed: N/A
Reefer fuel: paid
Fuel programs: fuel for $1.25 a gallon if all company guidelines are followed
Equipment: Volvo VN780, Freightliner Coronado, Freightliner Cascadia
Pay: .87 mile with $40 per extra stop
My opinion: This is the only company besides JCT to offer a $1 buyout at the end of the lease. However, due to the fact I have never heard of anything on them, I recommend one checks into this company before making a decision.
An in depth look at the various lease programs

Permits $33.17
Tolls $36.20
Fuel tax $27.80
Prepass $20.00
Scale $18.00
Workers comp $53.00
Road tax $10.58
Reefer fuel $59.31 (Mostly winter time, Imagine the summer)
Total weekly cost $258.06
Plus 3.5 cents a mile excess mileage charge if you run under 2700 miles a week if more add another 1.5 cents per mile for all miles.
These are called variables at Prime but this is an avg for my last lease of 9 months. Some are fixed cost some are variables BUT GUESS WHAT at JCT I don't pay any of them. Plus you probably have an 07 truck to have that payment. My buddy's 2009 cascadia was $826.00 a week plus $75.00 a week for his APU.
So before you start calling me a liar you should ask more questions I will meet with any person to show them my numbers and my lease at Prime I still have the copy.jess-juju, Team Evans, david07003 and 1 other person Thank this. -

Kh
Where is that jct outfit out of n btw thanx for taking the time to help "the next guy" out -
The point is you CAN lease an older truck at Prime and yes the payment would be lower. Yes, I do have an 07 but again I was saying the numbers were wrong on the truck payment and I will say it yet again because they are. You did NOT say those were new truck numbers.
As for the variable and fixed costs at Prime yep they exist..Yes I pay reefer fuel. Some of the costs are ridiculous and some I believe are fair. But the bottom line on all of it is: I and every other lease operator( past and present) signed up for every bit of it! I will not get into a "Prime vs JCT" debate because I do NOT think that is what this thread is for.
My belief and thoughts are that EVERY driver who wants to become a lease operator should get ALL the info they can on companies before that decision is made. Hopefully this thread will help them get a START. -
AMSN,
JCT is out of Sapulpa Oklahoma. I appreciate your kind words. My goal with this thread is to inform drivers of the good and bad lease options, save a driver from a bad mark on DAC before he or she goes to a bad company, and put my analytical skills to use to help fellow drivers. Note: Sapulpa is by Tulsa OK an airport that Southwest serves, so if you are flying in for orientation, try them as they have the cheapest fares. An average fare into TUL via Orlando on Southwest is $159.

Team Evans and VULCAN1999 Thank this. -
Guys, we are in a tough spot with this economy, and we will be for the next eight or nine months if not more. Companies like CR England will advertise about their perfect lease programs forever and probably will allow a couple to suceed just to advertise it.
If you think you have no other choice than to enter a fleece program where the failure rate is greater than the success rate; think again. There are many companies that do not use DAC. There are fleet owners who have trucks leased on to big companies that will hire you. However there are some bad mistakes that could prevent you from being employed.
Do not abandon a truck. I mentioned in another thread that you should carry two copies of the truck turn in form in the truck at all times for this reason and you could be moved into a new truck. By having the Terminal manager and maintenance manager sign off, you prevent a newbie or someone who hates you from screwing with you and getting you fired.
Another mistake is using profanity to any shipper, receiver, and any other company employee. You are representing the company and that company could find someone cheaper to do your job thus saving them money. In the end, follow all the rules and remember, a lot of these accidents can be prevented.
KHdavid07003, amsn and Johnny 111 Thank this. -
thanx again for all the info but mississippi was outside of jct hireing area im gonna contuine to keep serching for the best l/p program ( i know that my be choosing the less of two eivils) but if you come across another company with i low buy out at the end of the lease let me know and thanks again -
amsn,
Have you thought of going company to see how the companies system works? This advice is beneficial to a new truck driver who wants to own right away. Once you learn that companies system like a couple of drivers are doing for Roehl, you will be one step ahead of other new lease drivers.

Okay, I'll probably get in trouble for this..But....
I think it's a good idea that the different lease programs are being presented, but shouldn't the actual trucking advice come with some type of disclaimer that it's coming from an individual that has neither driven a truck for a living or worked in the trucking industry?
I'm not saying it's bad that he's giving advice, but people should know how much experience comes along with this info..
Just sayin..Roadmedic, Eskimo6804, walleye and 1 other person Thank this.
