I thought I had bigger tanks than this...I only have twin 100's, but I have one of these heavy arse Volvos, so they probably had to shave weight anywhere they could.

Just found out that my travel agent is out today. Not one peep from anyone. That's one thing I can say I don't like about SPD. They rarely say a word when your dispatcher is out. When my 1st dispatcher departed the company, nobody said a word as to whom I call or message, I just happened to find out when his temporary replacement noticed I was sending in messages to the guy about my truck being in the shop again and called me.

Yeah they have always sucked at communication, especially when someone is out of the office. My FM is never an issue because I call/text his cell phone. When I have to call someone in Washington and they don’t answer, I wonder are they busy or just not there today. They almost never forward their phone to who is covering for them.

I normally text rather than call so it leaves a digital paper trail. His fill in guy finally called me at 18:40 eastern and said I am free to head towards Savannah... that's it. No load info, no customer name, nothing. At that time of day, after sitting all day waiting, I wasn't in the mood and there dang sure won't be any parking anywhere up there so...I will get a good nights sleep and head up in the moring before the traffic mayhem, maybe by then they'll have some sort of load info, hopefully Toledo gets the load info and can let me know where and when, I really don't want to have to wait until Arlington comes in...I hate going in blind like this.

Understandable. If they actually have a load, I’d bet on keen or JCB out of pooler, ga.

They have something in the works, but hadn't gotten all the paperwork ducks in a row. If it is Keen or JBS that means machinery which is good. If I had a conestoga, I would probably already be on the way to Kent, but I have a de-conastoga'd flatbed...it had a conestoga but someone tore it up, so they just pulled it off and turned it into a semi-regular flatbed...it still has the holes in the rub rail where it was mounted and the skid plate guide on the rear part of the rub rail where the triangle tensioners would go. I hope it isn't one of those deals where I get up there then it's "we didn't get the load, so find a place to park". I was on the verge of just deadheading home thru the woods and sit there until they found something. Glad to see this Wylie "partnership'' is getting us so much more freight o_O...although I really shouldn't complain, it has been a pretty busy quarter so far...but I can't help it...I have to ##### about something once in a while or I'll forget how. :)

I'm paid a daily rate whether I move or not. I just make extra if I turn miles.

Picking up at Keen, but at the warehouse not their yard. Some kind of buckets (I am guessing for backhoes or excavators, Dig it?). I actually had to call to get dispatched on the load. It was entered and a trip number assigned, but nobody sent it to me. I finally got thru to dispatch a little after 8, but my pickup time was for 0800, and I was at the Love's south of Savannah. The load is going to a customer south of Tacoma and delivers between the 23rd and the 28th...piece of cake.
