Not getting a full load of buckets...I am also getting these

the problem is, they're held on the pallet by a thin plastic band and a prayer. As they were bringing them to the dock door to load my truck...some fell off on the dock plate and were dangling by the plastic. It would take 3 2" straps per pallet to secure them, and they loaded them on one side of the trailer, so taller freight will go on the other side...no #### way to secure them...but Arlington is insisting I take the load....today may be my last day....Saftey first and foremost my ###....we may as well put a Wylie sticker on our door because we are no longer a safety conscious company, we're a profit at all costs company and bully the driver to move the load, safe or not...just like Wylie. I have already sent pictures of this mess to safety and asked their opinion about how safe it is to haul.

Update* I may have just cut my own throat, but after I was told by dispatch that management insisted I haul this load, I went straight to the head of safety and he backed me saying I have the right to refuse to haul a load I don't feel comfortable with due to safety...so some parts of this company still respect safety and the drivers opinion.

The customer won’t move the freight around? Drop the trailer and go get more two inch straps? There’s a few different places that sell securement gear in pooler/garden city. Fleet pride and truck pro ect.

do you recognize where I’m at? C6F34EDA-ADE3-46CC-BBC2-C14DC3851E4D.jpeg

Don’t you just love it when a customer says or believes it’s my way or the highway

These guys say that they usually ship the small stuff via dry van. I am not the 1st driver to have issues with these small piece loads. It's a broker load from another company, and they said they have told that broker not to send in flatbeds for these type loads...even one of the brokers own drivers said he doesn't have adequate straps to haul that much small stuff.

Is the crated equipment you're hauling for their plant? Maybe Arlington will get the bright idea to reload you right back out of the same location.

Gotta love dry van loads on flatbeds. I hauled a full load of HVAC fittings once. They should have shipped the duct work separate. EF6E9504-8A81-44E2-AAD9-A28D415D3AAA.jpeg

I delivered the Crated machinery across the street. I told Washington that SSB was on his way up here so they said they would hold one of these loads for you! They had several loads ready to be loaded in the upper lot. I’m loading a big container heading to the East coast.

what’s the final verdict? Taking the load off?

They pulled me off the load and now I am picking up 2 portable hazmat storage units out of Wilkesboro NC going to a Naval Base in Everett WA.

Throw a tarp over 'em, and tighten the krap out of it. Those are quick couplers I believe.

    ###### man! That’s probably a better paying load then a van load masquerading as a flatbed load.

Good job standing up for a load that you don’t have the right equipment for. I know if the past few months we’ve had guys get tickets for not having enough chains on crushed cars. Maybe they were using straps, I’m not sure. What do they expect when standard issue equipment is 10 16’ long chains and 10 binders.

they better question is why the #### are we hauling crush cars?
