I think our daily miles on runs like this help keep the company's average daily miles per truck where Travis says it needs to be. If we both took home time the same week, SPD's daily average would drop to the point he would be worried.

And I was just asking if it was scheduled to be closed...I gotta go thru there tomorrow morning with a pin point load.

And I would like to publicly thank the people who invented Salonpas gel patches with lidocaine. The few months after I had that load where I dinged my back tightening that conestoga, they made it possible for me to do my job, now at times like I have been going thru since my last hometime where I either pulled a conestoga or a no tarp load, it made me a bit lazy, so when I get back to back tarp loads like these, I am glad I still have a supply of those patches left.

Get to be our age and those patches are a godsend. I can pass gas and need one.

I saw an ad for a new bigger one that is flexible. The ones I have been using are credit card sized but don't like to stay on if you're moving around too much, like say, tarping an elevator load.

With as much tapping as you guys tend to do maybe the $900 for a set of light weight tarps would be a good investment to help keep you out here longer. I don’t even tarp that often but I’ve been looking at getting some for the fall and winter just in case the freight types switch and I end up needing to throw my rags more often…

The crew that I got these tarps from in Rancho said these were lighter weight tarps than the ones I had, but they don't feel like it when I am moving them. The only thing I see different about them is they have mesh loops instead of metal D-rings, which makes feeding a bungee thru or hooking them with the S-hooks a PITA. They're only a 2 piece set, If I get to the yard after this load I might see if I can swap for a 3 piece.

Got a message on the way to the address that we originally sent to deliver to, change of address. Turns out they told us to deliver to the general contractor's business office the first time. Got routed to Seattle, just on the other side of I-5 (but nowhere near an exit), near a UW campus. A royal PITA to get a road truck and 53' trailer to...but hey, that's flatbed and that's why they pay us the big bucks.

    My view

Yes, that's the space needle and the mast of a ship (or a tug, I can't see the bottom)

4,266 mile later, my 70 has finally had enough. I think that’s probably the most miles I’ve done in one 70 before.

I was loaded to start, quick one piece unload, drop and hook a preloaded power only trailer, and the customer does all the work on the other end. As much as I think I’m going to hate this new truck, it’s pretty #### gravy here.

Well, the unload took a while, but it could be worse, another elevator parts load showed up while I was getting unloaded (not an SPD) and the guy told him he couldn't take it today and to come back tomorrow. Then it was a never ending traffic jam getting back to the interstate. Got my next load. Pick up scissor lifts in the morning, 3 stop delivery in GA and FL, due by next Wednesday. Should put me in the mid-11k for the month which isn't bad considering all the 34's I've been getting waiting on loads. Plus, my travel agent is back at his post, you really don't know how good you got it until it's not there.

Sitting here in N. Bend and a TSH just drove by with a load of lumber... Tennessee Steel Haulers hauling wood. And I saw a number of COTC trucks on my way out here hauling bales of scrap cardboard...I guess it's anything to pay the bills right now I suppose.

    Lonesome and Rugerfan Thank this.
