Oh yeah. It ain't easy being retired.....

 

Well it’s official. We are getting driver facing Samsera cameras. BUT they are also giving us covers for the inward facing camera, usage is up to the drivers choice as of now. I bet we will also be using Samsera elds soon. I’ve heard mixed reviews.

 

I thought the leading tests were going towards Motive...now it's Samsera? And I saw on the email about this weeks forum something about our PC...what's going on with that?

 

I though you hated peoplenet?

Just a reminder that you can’t use pc for anything work related. We certainly have drivers that need that reminder.

 

The company I'm with now uses Samsera. I like it. Works well with no drag/delay. It does has a quirk with the Split Sleeper Berth.

If I'm on a split, at midnight it all of sudden zeros my clocks out for a few minutes. I'm cruising along one night with 2 hours of 11 and 3 hours of 14 left when next thing I know it said I was in violation, both my 11 and 14 said zero. Then a few minutes later all was well again.

Heck it even sent an automatic email to our Saftey guy saying I was in violation. He checked it right away the next morning and there was no violation to be found, as there was none.

 

I've used samsara eld's before. Never really had any problems. I like the fact that if it freezes up on ya it still keeps track of your status and when you reboot it it's like nothing happened. However tablets are tablets so you know how that goes.
