Or someone in corporate figured out they could cut the electric bill by 10%.

‘Twas I in the second truck. Our life would be a lot simpler if they would just keep the far right booth open. It’s the only one we fit in and almost every trip it’s closed. Why have a large oversize lane, not use the lane(that any regular truck could also use), then sometime get huffy with us when they have to open said lane?

Swapped to a conestoga at Rancho, got a new fuel card in my hand and chilled for the rest of the day. Picking up in El Monte, CA after 0800 headed back east to Hanahan, SC for next week. A whopper of a load...supposed to weight a whole 6250 lbs. Not sure if that will be it and I head home or if Toledo will need me to move something else (or reload my conestoga and drop it at the Ravenel yard for another driver)

While in Rancho, the Rancho boss suggested a solution to my fuel card delima nobody else thought of. When I was stuck in Barstow, he could have sent a new fuel card with one of the many drivers that were headed east out of SoCal on that route and had them meet me and this whole fuel card drama could have ended days ago. Sometimes you just have to talk to the right people to get problems solved. I passed that idea on to my travel agent for future reference.

That would’ve made too much sense on the fuel card issue…some folks have to make things more difficult than they need to be..smh

Hell, that solution never even crossed my mind, but I have never been considered the brightest bulb in the string.

I thought about suggesting to even have a driver passing through to at least turn your pump on with his card. It sounds like the whole situation was handled poorly unfortunately.

I tried that once during a similar situation, but the card reader would not let his card pump that much fuel within his loads time frame.....

We are limited to $1000 per day. (Sometimes, other times I’ve put $1200 in when CA was way over $5 per gallon) But it’s just a simple override like they had to do to let him fuel at the TA, something his FM should be able to do. Mine does it all the time for out of network fuel when we are not permitted by a loves or PFJ.

Bumper, Lonesome and JoeyJunk Thank this.
