North GA and NC are getting a 1 - 2 punch. They're getting hit now by the front that is drawing the hurricane up from the gulf which will arrive late Thursday night/Friday morning

The Great Plains aren't any better with the tornados in Spring and Summer and the winters aren't sweet either.

I’m in Jackson GA now and the weather sucks, drop in Anniston in the morning, race down to Junction City GA and then make a bee line for the house, wish me luck folks!

Excuse me sir! In the Midwest we still wear shorts in the winter, even during snow storms! (Well not me anymore, I’m not even sure I own a pair of shorts that aren’t gym shorts)

    Lonesome and Knucklehead Thank this.

It's now predicted to reach Cat 4 by landfall, and has moved a bit west, aiming at Tallahassee. They have also upped the storm surge for the Big Bend area east of there. Predicted to hit 20'. What they don't mention is when storm surge hits, it causes a chain reaction upstream to rivers that dump into the surge area.

I'm scheduled to bobtail 220-ish from Alabama to Macon to pick up an empty reefer tomorrow and take it back to Alabama. Maybe I'm a fool, but I'm not even concerned about it.
