Have they changed much? I know the advertise a lot but haven’t really followed anyone who drives for them.

Finally got moved. They waited until almost noon yesterday to tell me to bring my RGN back to Wichita (a 9 hour drive) and then put me on a 3 stop TMX load. 2 stops in NJ, final in Queens, NY...and there is a double barrel ice/snow storm headed in that direction. The load will get there when it gets there. I have lost all enthusiasm for this company and their freight, I will head to the shipper before noon and get loaded, then head out towards my deliveries sometime tomorrow. I really don't see the point of busting my ### for this place anymore, it gets you nothing in return but disappointment.

I have been told by a trusted source that they have really started cracking down on the shop's incompetent repair habits plus getting on drivers who habitually dump defective equipment for the next driver without reporting it to breakdown. Plus I have heard they have gotten some additional long freight lanes from the west coast to FL, so there are miles available. I may have to get a bottle of Frank's hot sauce ("I put that *bleep* on everything") and have a heaping helping of crow, with a side of humble pie. Equipment issues were one of my primary reasons for leaving both times.

They instituted a policy of giving a "good" safety point for getting trailer inspections done. That may have been a thing when you were here, but may have needed 4 inspections, now it's a 1:1. Though they capped it at 3 a quarter. As for freight, idk, this time out been bouncing between pnw and Midwest mostly, but last time was mostly eastern time zone. And the last few times been to Florida, just between Atlanta and Orlando area. Though if you only go there for hometime 5 times a year, that's probably more than I've been down there in the last 3 years.

Just talked to a COTC driver here at TMX. He said they have a bunch of the new generic SFI logo'd trucks sitting at the yard. He said that going forward, all SFI trucks will be spec'd the same. All castrated, all speed limited to 65, and that all the general freight drivers loads will come from the same database, no more individual company customers. Specialized like what @kylefitzy hauls will still be company exclusive.

It wasn’t long ago you said you’d rather quit trucking than ever work for an Acklie company again. There has to be a better option. I’m sure VanEerden or someone like them pay better than Schaffer.

I know he has blocked me but I’ll say this anyway. If he’d actually go home more than 5-6 times a year he might find a decent job around there. There’s got to be a better option than a place that has failed him before twice. People leave comments all the time on his old Shaffer thread and things don’t sound that great around there. Sure it will be an entertaining read on here again but I hate to see anyone that miserable.

Believe it or not in some areas the local jobs aren’t worth anything but garbage…

I think a big problem is he's in Florida. Pickings are kinda slim, especially for frequent home time.
