What is TeleTrac? The way it comes across on the QC?

Teletrac is what Webber uses. Its sorta like Qualcomm's retarded cousin. Basic info comes to the truck, but sometimes it's not in order or msg is cut off mid sentence due to character count
I have had Qualcomm since the early 90's and this isn't as good as the early versions of that . Really useless in my opinion. Also,it's your HOS also and that's another story.

Maybe it's just me, but the Teletracs is my first HOS device that needs driver input. I used some form or another of XATA in the past and Teletracs is sorta redundant in the fact you always have to have it reconnect. The display on the dash is a small Samsung tablet that's really hard to see in the daylight and you might need to reconnect and miss seeing it.
It also goes off seconds after the ignition turns off. I don't know if it wakes up when you receive a msg or not. Webber doesn't hound you with msgs. Usually one a day about treating the fuel, heck even that one gets cut off mid sentence.

Quick update. Delivered Monday in Indy. DH to Middleville took that load to Kankakee. Took my 10 there then DH back to Middleville. Picked Up one for Washington,PA.
Bumping my 70 since Saturday,so they gave me this to get in a 34. It's a regional load that'll pay an extra 3 cpm.
I am going home late next week to pick up the wife, then probably stay out for indefinite periods.
That is if she is willing to put up with these narrow cab 386's. I asked for a 579,but we are short on trucks at the moment. So I am hoping she doesn't give me the "truck or me" line.
They are a great company for miles and I would hate to leave. But Momma knows best!

Momma don't do cramped. Something about spending 30 years elbow to elbow in an operating room. She retired late last month and she doesn't even like sitting close on those "special" occasions!

    Tennesseahawk Thanks this.

Updating my travels. I emptied out in Washington,Pa. Then a deadhead over to Columbus to pu a load going back to Kankakee. Dropped in Kankakee and picked up a 2 stopper for Salt Lake and Redding,Ca. The miles are here and just about every load out west has an extra day on them. I have found that the loads coming back east are usually transit time tight. Still doable.
Working my way back east after delivering,so I can take my home time. Be safe !

I forgot to add that my issues with the Teletracs was a hardware problem. They took the time to diagnose the issue and had it changed out while on my break.
If something needs adjusting or looked at they hop right to it.
Excellent maintained trucks. Just wish we could get them washed out on the road. Kankakee had water line problems and the trucks look like crap with the mud, sand and melting snow.
