I too use just the regular winch bar, but have been looking at the racheting one's since my elbow is all messed up now for some reason. I had a MRI done and aparently I ripped my 2 tendons that go across my elbow. i know the exact load I did it on too LOL[/QUOTE]

Was it done on your golf tour load. The bleachers and having to keep winching them tight?

No, it was before that load. But that one had me hurting for a few days afterwards..... the one I messed it up on was the 2nd flatbed load I ran, with the catalyst in the metal totes. I kept cranking on them so they wouldn't flap in the wind and finally one of the straps gave and snapped. After that, I've always put a twist in the strap and will never put that much force on a strap again

    Oh, Ok.
Was just kind of picking on you about the golf tour ld. ,as it seemed to be one of those great lds....
Yep strap lds. can be a pain.
Been using my 2" straps here more lately on booms. Problem is the straps are old and have kinda dried rotted on me to say.
Cut 2 of them this trip, even with padding between them and the metal.
So know it's time to update and replace them..
Hope things work out for you on the elbow.

I had them on a trailer for a few years, they worked great, and that was running here in the upper great lakes, the only thing you have to do is cut off that rubber doohicky, and lube them once every couple weeks in the winter.
