USPS just bought a whole bunch of brand new emissions exempt heavy duty trucks for inter terminal transfer. Next time when you see one of the HD international USPS trucks go by look at the color of inside of stack. The government is exempt of a mission control standards. Same with military. They know the mission controls are unreliable and they need their equipment in critical times. Just like the government told us truck drivers were critical during Covid… It’s just a double standard. All those lawsuits on trucking companies and truck tuners should be served to politicians and government employees that enjoy the double standard. The government buys pre emissions straight from the manufacturer.

Yup. The government knows emissions controls are unreliable and ensure that their trucks are deleted from the factory.

Being a wacky conspiracy theorist means questioning what is considered "science".

If the longest hole drilled into the earth is 12 kilometers, then how would it be known what is beyond that point which was drilled?

What's even more absurd is NASA has released images of "planets" with their cores and layers. Example:

    20241125_170816.jpg

It's quite easy to see for those who have eyes to see.

We know what's inside the Earth based on what comes out of the Earth. We also know what's inside the Earth because earthquakes create pressure waves that rebound around the mantle and core. Those waves and reflections act differently through different materials inside the Earth when they're tested by a seismic sensors globally. We also have a pretty good idea of the constituents of the entire solar system because the Earth was made from the same stuff as every other planet because they were all made from the same accretion disk.

Scientists make observations then come up with hypotheses based on those observations that may explain certain phenomena. We then test them over and over to see if those hypotheses were correct. If it fails we throw it out.

Scientists will even throw out commonly accepted beliefs when they are shown to be wrong by the evidence. We don't just claim the evidence is wrong. Science builds and changes. It's the best thing we have. Saying you don't like it or don't believe it doesn't make it wrong.

Interesting. I wonder who was to blame for climate change before man arrived?

Climate change has never been denied. To what degree man is/has contributed, and what effect that has caused is unknown and should be studied. I'm old enough to remember learning in school in the 70s that we were doomed, would run out of fossil fuels, and be in an ice age by the year 2000.

I can invision a discussion in 50 years or so blaming wind farms for screwing up the rotation of the earth, solar farms doing horrible damage to the sensitive desert environments where many are built.
I think choosing winners and losers according to agenda driven desires, under the auspices of " science ", is proving to be more dangerous and contrary to what should be the true benefit of science.

Let science drive the exploration of new technology without bias rather than doing things like trying to force answers.

    Just my opinion.

The ironic thing about is that the six axle locomotives that CSX uses (in particular EMD SD70 and GE Evolution series) are equipped with radial steering trucks to help the locomotives steer thru the curves on the track as well as spread the weight out to reduce the wear and tear on the rail. Of course it is a customer option. Some customers may go with the basic trucks to reduce the purchase and maintenance costs of the locomotives.

Yea it helps steer the the locomotive around curves and reduces wear on the wheels in the area I’m pointing to, but, it doesn’t change the overall wheelbase of the 3 axle truck which is over 13’, there in-lies the problem around really tight curves like we have here in WV. I’d like to have a $1 for every mile I’ve driven this old hyrail boom truck on the track over my 15 year journey with the company before they shut the doors….
