Well heck if Prime wants to do it the easy way just send a trainer to you and finish off the remainder of your training in your trk.You shouldn't have to go thru all the red tape again.
And... Just like that....

Hi 77, those 5,000 mile weeks are a killer.
-
For two people? Seriously?
-
I'm not saying it isn't possible, it's just in the world today, it doesn't work like that. Loading, unloading, weather, traffic. Hmm, are you, by any chance a dispatcher?
-
Yeah that's true. I'm thankful for not having to go through that.
-
Well, the 3 months I was in training we average 3K a week (which as you guys know is a solo week). Another few weeks of training is ridiculous.
-
how many driving hrs is primes requirement as a trainee?
-
They require a certain number of miles, not hours... 30k, I believe, after obtaining your CDL.
This might have something to do with their requirements for insurance. Prime may be under contractual obligation to require a certain number of miles of each and every driver before they release them solo.
Just a guess...texasbbqbest and darthanubis Thank this. -
Wait a second. Am I reading this right? You have TT experience with ABF and Prime made you go through their dog #### training program?

Just saying we have had a 6k week. Our dispatcher runs us.
But that was just one week. We are averaging 3k a week though like he said upstream.
With that being said 2 weeks tops. -
I had a month and a half with ABF so prime made me do 40k (30k is if you obtain CDL through Prime - I did not, had it already).
I've been over the road training with Prime since end of June. Three freaking months. Went through two trainers. Both were lease guys. We avg 3K a week on a good week.
My last trainer dipped out on me to get a local job before I finished my miles completely.
I had 2k left. I was going to be assigned another to finish the 2k but my FM decided to upgrade me instead. Come to find out I never was supposed to upgrade.
Now my real bone with Prime is when they called me they told me I had around 7k miles to do instead of 2k. And since I wasn't supposed to upgrade I'm not getting all my pay from my trip here to Fort Worth. I also learned I may not get breakdown pay since I shouldn't have been upgraded. Although when I. Get back to terminal that will be on the discussion list.redoctober83, Dreamboat and darthanubis Thank this.
