As a teacher ask around. Odds are you have a student who is driver for small company. I got my start by friend who had couple OTR trucks. He had driver break arm, load needed to go. I did written CDL stuff, got permit. Team drove to NY and back. Did few other states with owner to make them (speed runs) Log books may not have been 100% (unless we both grab right one) Till I got road test done.
So IF you get CDL, Health card a small operator MIGHT allow you to ride/drive some team (hopefully just when conditions are good) over summer break. Advantage is if dock is busy you can hand over driving to more experienced driver.
