I'm so hot right now. I got a into a different company truck (Volvo) several months ago and I've had problems with the stupid ### idle smart system. The truck would only idle for 10 to 15 minutes no matter the ambient temperature. When the Volvo kills the engine, it completely disables the idle smart system until you manually reset it. I finally got fed up and talked to the shop. The shop had me call and do an remote update with Volvo. The update gave me an hour idle time before it shuts off, but...

I'm with a Mega and we're governed at 65. Somehow my truck slipped through the cracks or the previous driver had the parameters changed, so my truck was ungoverned. I kept it at 70 or below to avoid triggering the nanny cam, but I could mash it for a bit if I needed too. This remote update gave me idle time, but set the governor to 65. I'm sitting on the side of the road angry. My year solo is almost up and I'm out.

Edit: I'm so mad I can barely function. If there is a way to reset the truck to factory without the scan tool lemme know.

The only way to resolve this issue is to buy your own truck and set the parameters to your specifications.

I think he is implying he is going to be a super trucker or aka Cowboy trucker in the near future.

Or what I've heard other drivers do, get people they know in the shop to change it for them.

Does it not idle when you leave the tractor brakes released? Don't get all in your feelings, because there is always a solution.

Almost every trucking company will instantly fire a driver that implements ECM changes on their truck without company authorization. Being an adult means recognizing that you have responsibility for the equipment people give you not just deciding to use the other guy’s equipment for your own enjoyment.
