The truck will shut down after 10 - 15 minutes of idling and it disables the Opti idle and the Opti idle won't kick the truck back on. I do a lot of night driving and the truck can still get super hot inside on a sunny day even though it's winter (the south). If it takes too long to cool the truck it shuts down the truck and I have to turn the Opti idle off and back on. There have been several times I've woken up sweating bullets because the truck has shut down and the Opti idle has stopped working.

Lulz, youre in the south and idling or using a bunk heater, what a joke

Youre also mad that you were unfairly treated (in your favor) with an ungoverned truck that is NOW actually operating at the parameters you agreed to when you signed on

Not only this, you are soooo mad that you had to pull over and try and let your rage dissipate before its safe for you to drive. Thats better than driving the truck while angry, but still road rage, heaven forbid someone ever flips you off.

Trucking isnt for you, you have anger management issues, seek employment somewhere you will be treated like the delicate unique and special snowflake that you are.

And get some counseling for the anger issues, that stuff isnt healthy, shortens your lifespan just with heart issues

Lol ummm reread your post. You seem emotional and confused. It gets hot AF in the cab and if the truck idles for more than 10 to 15 minutes it shuts down and won't restart unless I use the key to manually restart it. It's impossible to sleep. I hit all my company's performance metrics and bonuses monthly, I do just fine. The point of my post is be careful what you wish for, they gave me more idle time, but I got my max speed dropped without me knowing.

Its like 45 to 50 degree lows everywhere south of indianapolis, thats quite literally an IDEAL sleeoing temperature.

    Once again, reread YOUR POST,

"I'm sitting on the side of the road angry.
Edit: I'm so mad I can barely function."

You got your idle blah blah tweaked, but got speed put exactly where its supposed to be and youre mad, not grateful that they listened enough to try and fix things for you, but mad because you had a perk you WERENT SUPPOSED TO HAVE fixed

You're not smart. I'm in Wyoming RN and it's sunny as ####. I have a sun shade, both sleeper windows open, and a fan, and when I walked back to the truck after a shower earlier it was 78° in the sleeper. Next time your dumb ### let's the truck sit on a sunny day in direct sunlight when you get back to the truck look at the temperature in the sleeper. You will feel like a moron. Even though it's 50° outside it can get hot AF inside the truck.

I was mad cuz I did it to myself and it was a surprise because they didn't say anything about it. If i didn't say #### it would have stayed the same. I'm over it now.

They didn’t say anything because they didn’t know your speed wasn’t cut. When they reset or updated the software or whatever they did they simply reset it back to your company’s parameters. Nobody went in and changed only the governed speed.

So youre complaining about being in the south and it being too cold, and NOW youre in the north complaining of heat

Sure, im not smart, because when its 50 out, sun or not, all you have to do is open the vents and windows, but thats not the smart thing, the smart thing is to continue to whine and complain because youre a petulant child that cant get their way

Not going to comment about anger issues or being speed governed. But I will comment on not being able to idle with no apu.
    It's wrong. Period.
    You think not?
Then YOU try sleeping in a sleeper when the air temperature is below freezing. While using a CPAP that's pumping that freezing air into your body at 9 PSI. Until the CPAP kills the batteries and you wake up gasping for breath, freezing in a pitch black box. Then having to wait for six hours for a service truck to show up at the drop yard your in to slave off your truck.
I don't know how much money was saved on fuel by not idling that night, but I'd be willing to bet the cost of the service call, plus the cost of losing a scheduled load due to having to reschedule the delivery of the load I was under at the time was a hell of a lot more.
Pile on all the blankets you want, does no good if the cold air is being pumped right into your lungs.
If the company doesn't want the truck to idle, they need to install and maintain an APU.

    TawcoTruck Thanks this.

If your health is so bad not idling will darn near kill you . Maybe a different company or job suits you better is the way to go…
