Took a load from Winnemucca, NV to Tracy, CA. Load was ready on the 19th according to them. I told them I would be there on the 22nd. Rate confirmation said first come first serve. We don't pay detention unless authorized. One truck ahead of me and three trucks came in after me. The three later trucks got loaded over the next two hours. I called to get authorization for detention. "I'll make a call and get back with you." Never heard from them I called again. "Well its first come first serve." Okay then why are the three trucks that came in after me getting their bills and getting ready to leave. "I'll check and call you right back." 20 minutes and no call back I left and went to the truck stop and called again, "We need to discuss truck ordered and not used." They told me to go back and they will pay me $50 for every hour after 4. I told them that the industrial norm was after 2 hours but I will except their 4. I went back and they were just starting to load the first truck that had come in that morning, the other trucks were loaded and gone. They finished and then started on me. I spent 6 1/2 hours there for the load. I wrote it on the BOL and the shipping clerk marked out my 8 am start and wrote 11. " You left and came back." No I came at 8 and was asked to come back and promised I would be copensated for everything over 4. No one never said time was starting over. ATL the broker refused to answer my calls for the next two days and then finally said I was not getting detention. It has now turned into a mess because they wanted to steal a buck and a quarter. I have made them well aware of Uniform Commercial Code Artical 7 Section 307 & 308. I will get mine but who wants to go through this
