You might need to do a reset on your phone. Backup your data and then to a restore to factory.

Now for data, my Droid 1 was extra for tethering through VZ, but my wife has 5gb hot-spot free with her Palm Pixie. Now my new Thunderbolt has free unlimited tethering until May, after that, charges apply.

"Long press" the icon for the app that you want to get rid of then just
drag it to the trash can.

This will get rid of the icon but you have to go into settings to get rid of the
    app itself.

yea, but I hear they are only charging $20/month for tethering, and if you think about it, with unlimited data that you can use while on the phone, it would be cheaper than me using my mifi card that I have now. Which I regularly use 10GB/month (Price is $80/mo. but with discount is only $60/mo for me)

On my phone (LG) to delete from the main screen. Press the icon for a couple seconds, a trash can appears at the bottom, drag and drop.

Worth a shot on yours I suppose...

I use PDANet to tether my Incredible to the laptop, one time 15.00 app.

    I agree with the advice to not use task killers. if your tech savy you could root. When I first rooted there was a one click app that did everything for you, I dunno if its still around though. Some apps I like;

Mytracks: maps out where you have been and your average speed, etc. Great for truckers who want a map of all the places they've been.

Rdio: Subsciption music app. Pay 10 bucks a month and have unlimited downloads.

    Angrybirds

    The weather channel

Speedy uploader: batch photo uploader for facebook

Cachemate (root users): clear all your cache with one button press

Rom Manager: an essential tool for root users to flash cutom roms and themes

ADW launcher: By far the best home replacement

SNESOID, GAMEBOID, N64oid, etc.: Emulators to play gameboy, supernintendo, N64 games on your phone

ROM Gripper: get roms for the emulators

Its not an app but the "Game gripper" is awesome for Droid 1 and 2. You slip it over your keboard and it turns your keyboard into a supernintendo like controller. AWESOME for emulator playing.

Alarm clock Plus: Best aftermarket alarm clock. You can have it launch apps for an alarm (ie pandora) and even make you have to do math problems to shut the alarm off.

Beautiful widgets: give a lil somethin somethin to your homescreen. Weather/clock widget

    Wireless tether (root)

TilestormHD: really fun puzzle game that makes you think

Picsay pro: absolute best photo editing/enhancing app

Dolphin Browser HD: My fav aftermarket browser.

There are plenty more but I've taken up enough of your time and thread space for now ; )

When I go into the edit mode, the trash can is always there. I would highlight that page and hit delete, nothing would happen. I didn't think about drag and drop but it did work. Thanks :biggrin_25520:

I have a Droid X with the car cradle.

    The apps I like are:

City State ID - one time purchase vs the monthly fee app that came with the phone
Craigslist Notifier - Bought some cool stuff without needing to browse the site all of the time
DailyRoads Voyager - Dashcam app for crash protection and landscape footage
iHeart Radio app - I can listen to my local station anywhere now
KeyRing - Backs up all your rewards cards
    Kindle app - Reading books
Radar Now - Free weather app for localized doppler data
Reverse phone Lookup - Cool for numbers I don't know
    Skyfire - Alternate browser
Stitcher - Podcast downloader, great for daily news feeds
Time-Lapse app - Make the days drive into a short video
Wordfeud - I am a scrabble addict at times

So I'm back out on the road, sort of. I should be starting with FedEx Ground doing a day run on the wheel board. I have this fancy iPhone and was wondering what are some of the better apps people are using for trucking specific operations. I already have a few...

Truckster (For truck stops, rest areas, etc.)
iExit (Lists everything at an exit)
iDDL (Logging. I've never used it. Pull up the app and it doesn't seem to work for me)
    Trapster (Points out speed traps)
Truck Paper (If I ever get the dumb idea of buying a truck again)
Beat The Traffic (Real time traffic maps)

I also have The Weather Channel, Google Maps, Pandora, XM/Sirius, FB, Twitter, etc. But I am looking to see who's using what as far as trucking specific.

    Thanks... :biggrin_255:

I like to use Mapquest in conjunction with Google Maps.

Mapquest allows you to add destinations besides just the origin and final.

You can also route around tolls on MQ.

I mostly use MQ to see mileage and time differences when GM plots a route I don't like.

You've already named the other apps I like.

I do have some time-killing, mind-numbing pointless games to help deal ease time consuming delays at customers.
