I have been using copilot for about a month now and it seems to work better than my expensive cobra unit....plus they just release the Version 9 with new map Data yesterday......

On top of that the makers of Copilot also update maps on a regular basis...and those updates are FREE......so 150 bucks you can't really go wrong....its the same software thats on the PC milers, and Magellan units......but it runs a lot smoother on my Xoom, just it would run good on a decent smartphone...cause they have more processing power than the Stand alone GPS Units....so if you miss your turn it reroutes you lightning quick........

as far as google maps...and the truckroute overlays....yeah they are all well and groovy...that is until you lose your data connection or have a reaaaaal slow data connection.....(which is entirely possible pretty much anywhere you go...) then you are SOL.....so I would recommend Copilot cause it stores the maps....(the North america map is about 1.2 GIGS so it takes a bit to download...i suggest a good wifi connection...)

I've been using the car version of CoPilot with a trucker atlas. You can set waypoints along your route to plan how you want to go.

Im quite attached to ALKs Copilot Truck....she still hasn't steered me wrong...and being on a galaxy tab 10.2 she routes and reroutes like lightning....but it is just a tool...I have been to most of the places we go and I keep her around to keep me an idea of where my exits are and how much futher I have to go...plus customizing my route is a snap...I never trust a gps 100% I always verify before I go either with customer directions if I haven't been there before...plus I use google maps to pick out land marks and to figure out my routing...I figure if I see trucks on the road I too can be on it...LOL I would never recommend trusting a GPS to anyone especially a rookie..
